Loot
" I couldn't help but laugh out loud at " Hoover up any good loot " Thank you sir for that. | |
FFA loot and the ugly gear means pretty much the only reason I'd play this game in release is because one of my friends hates D3 because it's too different from D2 and I'd only ever play with my friends as we share drops, no playing with anyone else.
D3 and TL2 system makes grouping a good idea, here it only seems to be a good idea if you get stuck on something while soloing. |

I think the loot system is fine. FFA loot is how Diablo 2 did it and how plenty of other games of this genre do it. It makes it competitive. Though I wouldn't mind if loot was personalized for however many players in the party (something drops for everyone), but this way is just fine.

" Diablo 2 is a 12 year old game , I hope that GGG will chose something new and fun instead of this old FFA system which doesn't promote anything fun . |

FFA looting is totally outdated.
D2 had FFA, because no other loot option existed at that time. Guess what loot system D3 has? Right, personalized loot. They got rid of the annoying stuff like spamming pots, gimping chars and (drumroll) FFA looting. FFA looting sucks big time, i am totally against it. And it is the reason i just play solo 99% of the time. FFA looting kills fairness and keeps ppl from grouping. Get rid of it, please. DMT:

I played 5 different ranged-based classes already. I maybe only partied about 4 times during that because a melee-focused character would always pick up all the scrolls, gems, and on occasion, the rares. I love partying and meeting new people and maybe making a friend, but right now I only do it if a specific part is too hard for myself, and after that I just leave the party in case something I need drops and everyone tries to rush to it to pick up.
I would just do all the content by myself because if a really rare gem that I need drops, the melee people would always pick it up without even knowing the name of it. Of course, I can't just ask them for some scrolls, and also they would usually keep the gems to themselves saying "My other character needs it" I played D2 for years, but is FFA loot really needed anymore? It just brings more complications one way or another. I never really liked everyone having their own loot either since it can change up the economy in some ways, and their is also no risk at all in that. How about just a mix of the two? How about just randomly choosing someone and give them a small timer to pick it up or anyone can after the timer is up. You can still have a semi FFA loot game. What most players want is loot that is identifiably theirs. FFA doesn't make the game complicated. It makes the gam prone to griefing. The timer is too short and doesn't help much because people still rush the drops and you can end up getting physically blocked from getting your drop.
This short time delay pickup "to keep it challenging" "because we want a hard core edge" really has nothing to do with either. Ninja looting has been a target for more criticism than praise since before D1. FFA is inherently unfair to ranged attackers and the snatch-and-grab mentality does not foster a group play environment. At the same time, the game has become harder so that grouping is increasingly necessary. Thus, it will devolve into the same complaints that existed in the Diablo series. |

I love FFA loots ,and dont need personal drops for each player ,but some people are too slow to pick good items ,thats why its good to make option about party loot
-random -allocate -maybe by turn and others |

I hate this free for all loot system. Please change it to personalized loot or increase the loot timer to 30+ seconds.
I want to play an ARPG not a 3d Hungry Hungry Hippos when crap drops. |

Hmm... I didn't realize the group loot was handled this way. It's quite a let down, actually. I think the only thing that D3 did correctly was allowing everyone their own loot. Not sure if I can support this game if it uses this completely outdated and frustrating loot system.
