Chaos to alt ratio ripoff

Well, 20 alts for 1 chaos perhaps is overpriced and you could call it a ripoff.
But 16 alts for 1 chaos is stupid too, because I wont do profit with that.

There is simply no reason to trade if you dont make profit.
Nobody, no bank or any other institute will change your money for exactly the exchange rate.
I dont want to waste my time with no profit trades too and so I want at least! 17 alts for a chaos.

The prices for alterations are more or less ok, 20 is very expensive but not sooo bad imho.
The real ripoff is made with chromatics. I see offers like 1 alch for 10 chromatics all the time in trade chat. 1 chrom is much more worth than 1 alteration!

Completely different topic, but there's a common vendor sell recipe to acquire chromatics and you can even buy this vendor recipe frequently from the vendor and sell it right back to them. As such, they're much easier to acquire than alterations.

So people have no way to see the vendor selling jewelers for 2 alts, and fuses for 4 jewelers?

Maybe in a1 normal, which is the first 2-3 hours for a new player, and I doubt they are trading a stack of alts in their first 3 hours in game, especially for a chaos since they would probably have 2-3 rare items at that point.

Defending stupidity.....
@Duskbane you are talking out of your ass. I just spent over 6 minutes looking for someone to trade 2 fusings for 1 chaos.

6+minutes > 4 alteration

I love how people in a bartering economy classify anything as a ripoff, haha!
Of course there are going to be people overcharging you when there are no set prices. It's up to the players to judge if they think it's worth their time to do some extra trades, or simply buy something for more.

And honestly, why would anyone want to trade a chaos for 16 alts? At the end game you'll want to chaos maps and rare items, not use transmutes on magic ones. If someone is willing to sell a chaos for an item worth less, I don't see why they wouldn't sell it for a profit in some way. Otherwise what would be the point? It's much harder to trade for getting chaos orbs than it is to get alts. :p

Lastly, any fool who's looked at the vendor for more than a freaking minute will know that they can convert alts into fusings. If you trade them for that "ripoff" ratio in the hundreds or even thousands without ever researching that, you deserve to get ripped off. :p

Ratios are overrated. When I trade I always negotiate the price on the spot. I'm not being driven by some idiotic rules.

And the OP has his brain unplugged.
I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it.

One instance out of a million = me being wrong

There's no reasoning with you, so feel free to continue bumping the thread. My main goal is to make everyone aware that a vendor will do them more justice than these trades. Nothing any of us say is going to change that, so every time you bump the thread, you just help me out.

Just keep on tossing the insults, I can soak it up. No one ever got one over on cheapskates and scam artists without taking flak.

how is it a scam or a ripoff when anyone with a half a brain can see the vendor ratio? Again, you want to protect stupidity?
Duskbane, you use your experience to tell people that trading fusings for chaos takes no time.

I tell you that it does out of my experience.

So if you want to say your experience if more accurate than mine than give numbers please.

Also I don't mind bumping the Thread.

It is true that you can get 2 fusings for 16 alterations nothing wrong with telling people about it. But it is also nothing wrong with telling people just because you can get 2 fusings for 16 alts doesn't mean someone gets 'rippedoff' by trading 20 alts for 1 chaos.

As long as there is no way to convert alterations to chaos through the vendor it is legit to ask for whatever you want in that trade.

I once sold my xbox to a pawn shop.

I later found out that a different pawn shop would of gave me more (even though I would have had to drive 50 more miles to get to it)

Where to I report this "scam"?
