Zombie´s suck since latest Patch - 135% resists... Endgame Summoner screwed. Help us Pls

You got to think for GGG. They are brand new and have lots to room to improve. This is simply not a game where you can summon zombies to tank things. This is a game where you drop 2 totems and sparkle the entire vicinity to kingdom come.

In end-game content, there are very few that can just sit and tank things endlessly as well. The defensive measures involved in playing a summoner are that of having enough of them on the screen that it lessens the chance of anything wanting to hit you. That's why you have the ability to get 20+ minions. They aren't made to just sit and take hits endlessly. So the moment they debuff them because they were ridiculously OP, people start whining that they can't do content anymore and they want easy mode back.

Personally, I've never used zombies to tank bosses or extremely hard content. I've used skeletons to tank, and spectres to do damage. The gold that is zombies is their high health with minion instability, and their ability to pick up stray trash faster than spectres or skeletons.

From my experience, Spectres and Skeletons do not have an aggro radius. Their aggro is obtained by actually attacking. Zombies I find to be different, and mobs will pick them up with them just being around. Staying close to zombies will save your life when some fast-ass mob decides to nail you from the back when you're not looking.

Do you people really think that zombies should tank WITHOUT any defensive investment?

Are you really that naive?

What for are PURITY, NECROMANTIC AEGIS and Minion Reistance.


NO SHIT, I play a main summoner and my lv 19 Zombies without increased minion life SUSTAIN almost all the damage by VITALITY AURA!

I am using Aegis(+24% all resist, without additional AR mod, without chaos resist mod) and Purity.

AND THAT IS ALL!

Anybody who says zombies die instantly and were heavily nerved should really be careful about the garbage which falls out of their mouth!


If you spec your zombies 100% into defensive they will NEVER DIE. 100% sure. You people just dont know how to play a real summoner.

It pains me to see people complaining with their thoughtless trashbuilds not understanding game mechanics. I am almost mad! (at least it is some kind of entertainment this bitching)


Think about the Diablo 2 necromancer. You >>CAN<< make a build which has the same effecivness. I did it and there is still so much potential for this build. trash shield, no level 20, no chaos resist, more auras and higher level on auras, very limitd quality on skillgems, still I can do a lot of maps losing no single zombie!
Btw.: All my minions kill white mobs with 2-3 hits with faster attacks(+haste) while they are double cursed (vulnerability + temp chains)


Please dont complain about minion nerfes (actually it wasnt even a nerf but a bug which orccured under certain circumstances), they are extremly powerful. I would even call them borderline OP.


Really pathetic this complains! I can honestly say that I am ashamed seeing people complaining about minions.

PS.: here are some facts (I am 90% sure about)

-A bug made zombies have 75% all resist without any investment which did not occur 100% of the time(just randomly)

-Zombies have ~25% all resist build in. You can see this when you fight one of the exiles who summones them

-with 24% shield(aegis) and Purity your zombies have 75% all resist

If you have an aura oriented build you can have up to 4% auras, including Vitality.

Vitality WILL counterheal Elemental Dots by 100%!

Where is the problem?

if you have zombies with 25% resist dont complain. Utilize multiplicative defensive mechanics(dont forget shield block!)

Minions which dont die, do the most damage and as summoner you can afford to not have a shield.

I just tried a OVERGROWN RUIN Map L66

My Minions got wiped out on the 1st room by Poison and Fire Enemies.

It took like 5-10 seconds for my whole Minion army to dissapear


It would be really nice if a GGG Developer could take a look into this because any other class has no problems with a L66 MAP.


Why GGG is ignoring ENDGAME (and not shitty L50) Summoners is a Myth to me.......


Does GGG want us L80+ Summoners to farm Docks and Lunaris forever ??? Maybe its becoming boring sooner or later?? Could that be possible ??

Jesus one GGG Developer must take a look into this.........

the problem is that you are maybe level 40 to 60 and talking a lot shit for low level summoners.

it would be very nice of you to shut up and play to level 80+ then do some elemental 66 maps before you come back to this thread again.


p.s Sporkers are boring, i prefer minions. hopefully GGG is fixing them soon...

16k HP zombies are amazing minion instability bombs, throw a few auras on them and spec correctly (not this half-spec'd bullshit I see on the forums where people take a few minion nodes, think they're a summoner, and then put everything into spark or another skill) and zombies last perfectly fine and aren't squishy.

Prior to the nerf I had zombies with over 20k HP. They wouldn't die for shit.

and using zombies with MI, again, implies you actually WANT them to reach 35% low life threshold, and thus, die.

like I've said, I had 10% quality RZ gem, had minion health as a support in a +2 minion helm, all minion nodes in the tree and all auras possible except vitality (which sucks against burst damage anyway)

they don't "last perfectly fine" at all. a lvl 70 incinerator or, say a carrion queen with multiple projectiles absolutely destroys all of them unless you can kill those mobs faster than they will throw their shit at zombies.

mutliple hellions or a cinder golem's burning ground MURDERS them.

skele archmages spark in a room MURDERS them. an LMP voidbearer MURDERS them.



MAP drops for Summoners are useless now. We can do Docks/lunaris until we die........

GGG pee pee on our heads while sporker, ranger etc etc can enjoy this game......
