Remove MF completely from game
" Next time, find 5 friends an do that map in group without MF and compare the loot/time. Seriously, I'm getting tired of this stupid thread. It doesn't work against build diversity, since you can buold WITH or WITHOUT MF. |

" wow, an elitist.... ok, first i could easily keep playing softcore but that is so boring. Second, I was only playing the dual spork build for low-life MF whoring, never said the build was the issue.....it is just so easy to build that while maintaining ridiculous MF. Last, dont get butt-hurt when ppl are trying to IMPROVE the design of the game for future play..... clearly the OP has many valid points as to why MF is a dog-shit way to play this game.
" If MF is "worthless" then getting loot is "worthless" LOGIC
" Because loot doesn't drop if you have no/little MF gear? Logic. |

Tough I prefer to play a MF char and always make MF oriented builds I highly agree with the OP for removing MF.
Yes, removing it completly would be the right direction. It really hurts build diversity. Personally I dont want to try out certain builds, just because I know that they will not be farming fast though they might be fun to play. What I would do ist: -introduce 2 map types (XP and farm as the OP said) -remove death penalty -reintroduce MF depending on KILLSPEED and SURVIVABILITY meaning: if you kill monsters fast you gain MF and if you die, you will lost MF MF is the prefect example why we should always question old things and dont take them as granted, because its right: if you look at it with an unbiased mind from far away its just garbage and doesnt improve anything. The only thing it does: Make you feel bad if you dont have MF (whether its a non MF char or an MF char without maxed MF) |

" Believe it or not, some players have advanced past grinding docks 24/7 and the item potential of even ilvl 72 rares is for the most part negligible once you have reached a certain gear and wealth mark. IGN: Arlianth

Saying D3 became better after paragon levels were added is true, but very misleading.
I mean, if PoE had a level cap of 60, and then we let players progress past 60 by giving them both skill points and IIQ, and we let them progress that way until level 160, then we'd pretty much have the D3 paragon system. The part that made sense about paragon levels was: 60 as a level cap is fucking stupid, so up it. Thankfully, PoE doesn't have this problem, so this part is irrelevant. The part that didn't and still doesn't make sense about paragon levels was/is: let's tack on a bunch of MF for no reason other than making the MF gear we put in the game useless instead of nerfing it directly like we really want to because we treat our players like children and we feel the need to trick them into things. Even then, paragon 100 was difficult enough to achieve that the quickly devaluing MF gear was a good buy for players who weren't planning on rushing their XP gains. PoE does have the problem of MF affixes. The question, I guess, is whether to pull a paragon and try to pull wool over the eyes of the players, or be upfront about it and just nerf MF affixes directly while increasing base drops to compensate. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
