Agreed. Unfortunately, judging by how long it took to fix FFA loot, we have at least another year of stubborn pigheadedness from the devs before they'll consider fixing MF.

Agreed, as with most people in this thread.

MF is what should happen when your build is efficient and kills quickly, not a D2 holdover magic number where you gimp yourself directly and are rewarded for it. Not to mention that some builds can MF and others simply can't.

I absolutely never expect this to be changed in PoE.


EDIT: I like "add X challenge, get Y magic find" mechanics found in maps. I dislike IIR/IIQ support gems, Andavarius and all the other "MF" uniques, and MF rolls ruining my fightin' items.

Signed. I wont support them if they decide to add mf to poe2. Right now we just have to deal with it.
Kill speed? You do know what going to happen next right? Players will bitch about this character kill faster than that character.

The problem isn't MF the problem is the players being brainwashed by the public school systems on equality. Everything needs to be equal, needs to be balance. That in itself is bullshit.

People already bitch about that. It's a good thing to bitch about. Excessive imbalance means that GGG creates X content and only a fraction of that is actually used.

Exact equality isn't what people want, it should just be within an order of magnitude all around. There is more than an order of magnitude difference between the safety and killing speed of, for two examples, a Shavronne's sporktotemancer and a Point Blank archer.

For group play, having a dedicated mf-er does not noticeably decrease map clear speed, if at all so there is really no disadvantage to it other than a single person must sacrifice some his his precious epeen dps for the group's benefit.

However, I have found that past a certain point mf became rather useless as my map mates would tend to ignore most rares even on high level maps in part due to how rare it is to find an item worth keeping and selling.

With this in mind I would actually say mf is not rewarding enough and there is no reason to change it.

I completely agree with almost every post in this thread...MF is making game kinda boring for me because I can't use all gear that make my char stronger etc..every moment I need to think about MF. And it's really hard to make your main char strong without "MF char" that farms currency and gear.Of course I have one with all MF gear...but it's really expensive to buy all this things and play this char...
Kill speed is not meaningful once you do maps.

Currency extracted per map is the rate in question. It doesn't matter if you take 5 minutes or 20 minutes. You need to get as much out of each map as possible because you have to spend on the next map. Having an extra 15 minutes to wish you'd used more mf is not helpful. There is no substitute for iiq/iir when plowing maps. And maps are all that you do once you get into maps.

I don't have friends that play this game anymore; they all quit because the chances of finding anything on a character than hoards power is dismal compared to making an mf machine.

I solo. My main (81 softcore) has decent dps and survivability. I don't play it anymore. I have a mf machine that lets totems take the risk. The profit per hour from the mf machine is much higher; it's better for me to play this stupid mf toon than what I enjoy to enhance what I enjoy. Although really, I should just enhance the mf toon and ignore that other characters exist.
