Here's why I think the importance of magic find should be drastically reduced.
I'm playing a build that uses 3 unique items,
Spoiler
It's a frenzy bow Shadow which uses Lightning Warp instead of running to sustain a max level Arctic Armour, and as such needs loads of movement speed to be viable. None of these uniques have life, the boots have terrible evasion and the helmet is pretty low too. Not to mention the lack of resistances. So with my 2 ring slots, my belt and my gloves I'm supposed to get enough survivability, and somehow fit magic find on those too just so I can get an average amount of drops? This is why it stifles build diversity. If you don't have a decent amount of magic find you literally get shit all, so this character is nothing more than a currency drain. It sucks because it's my most fun build yet but trying to progress with it costs so much more than I can earn playing with him. Magic Find is a very controversial stat. This is a gear grinding game, not gear selling game. Because when you find really top gear pieces - you can't use them, unless they have IIQ and/or IIR thus *not* effectively being top gear pieces anymore... Or you can, but you will get no further decent drops.
So the game actively divides people into farmers and levellers. The latter ones would buy items from the former people. I personally don't like Magic Find, because I am more fond of playing self found, but it's up to GGG to decide whether to remove it or not, and I don't think they ever will :( "Have You tried Frost Wall build recently? It's OP as shit after 0.11.1c. |

" I've tried one as a cool party ninja-loot build, but it was significantly nerfed after introducing permanent loot allocation in 0.10.0. Last edited by Arhadon#5754 on Jun 28, 2013, 11:59:27 AM

WHY on earth would you want to make the game less gear dependent? The entire end-game of this and ANY ARPG is to acquire the best gear you can. Jesus, you people jump ship from D3, complain about how shitty the itemization is, and then parrot the same awful suggestions in the next game you play. Why don't we just buff crit chance, crit damage and attack speed and make it available on all gear to be fair to all characters? Even better, let's get rid of attribute allocation, it's not fun and hurts build diversity. Right? It's just not fair!

" So everyone should be playing a gear independant build so they can find items, cool. It works fine not that it was the point of my post, the actual one went right over your head. " It's not about making something less gear dependent, it's about making it more dependent on gear that helps you actually play the game, and not helping you profit of of it more. This is all about playing the game more, and less using RMT. |
