Game has dropped in popularity to closed beta level
" QFT Also, using the reach metric is misleading. This game is a niche game. That fact is not disputed really. If you look at the traffic (ie players that are visting the site regularly) you would see it significantly higher than it was in closed beta. It has trailed since initial OB which is expected, but appears to be stabilizing. Just another arm chair analytics analyst who thinks a steep drop means something is failing. There are countless reasons that explain the phenomena what you presented. If you really want to learn about web traffic patterns and the conclusions you can make you should look up Bill Tancer. " You're right. It means the opposite. Clearly steep drops indicate success. What the fuck was I thinking? traffic is meaningless compared to reach btw... high traffic can be achieved by a small but dedicated playerbase. high reach is achieved by a large overall playerbase. Game will be fine. Of course the player base would drop off. Some decide they don't like it and leave. Some play through everything, get bored farming for maps and leave, but these I can see coming back as more content is added. Some leave because XP penalties or whatever.
Who cares? The game is made for a niche market. That niche market will stabilize and support the game. I doubt the developers thought it would be any other way. Personally, I'm looking forward to spending some money in the cash shop once in a while and seeing where they take the game over the long term. The plan is to have like 10 acts over the course of a long time. Game will only get better. This game is for people with patience. If all the "I need it now" people leave, who cares... Still more than twice as much as CB |

You mean twice as much as the low point of closed beta.
Now those are some nice numbers. Give a round for GGG!! Reach for the stars!! Last edited by tikitaki#3010 on May 22, 2013, 1:18:53 PM

Drop in site traffic =/= drop in the amount of people playing. If you are going to troll, at least put some effort into it. This just reeks of laziness.

It all depends on where you cut the graph. If you look at the graph you can see that it is to early to say where it will stabilize after OB began.
You try to compare the average of the CB time which was more than a year to the value of OB which started only 5 months ago. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

Yes, there was a very huge drop in users.
But what I saw mainly is, that a lot of people left because of technical problems. I run a win32 system with 2 gb RAM and up to now I cannot solve certain areas without help. Best example: Piety! As soon as she dies my system crashes, as well in solo, as well in Group. So I must be very tricky to get my keys from her. But thank god, up to now I always found help from people, even if sometimes it took very long. Furthermore I run normally with about 10fps and it is impossible to take part in races or do a normal group-game. Other games are going pretty well on my dualcore-system. Thats why I think at least half of the players who left, did it because of the technical impossibility of playing the game in full aspects. GGG YOU SHOULD REALLY WORK ABOUT THE TECHNICS!!!! |

they need to up orb drop and add content. And id say a new skill a week is a million times better then a new unique. couldnt give a shit less about those . was loving when they pumped out a new skill every week or so. gave people that dont get orbs something to work for.
