Game has dropped in popularity to closed beta level

As mentioned before, you should look at more than the last 3 months. If you had, you would see that traffic is up since before CB. Of course, traffic spikes leading up the OB.

Took a 2 year break, but I'm back.

I just fucking love when people saying its normal game is released and in 6months nobody playing it. Yes its common but with BAD titles. Not trying to bashing poe hard, enjoying so far but my guess is there wont be any fundamental changes to core gameplay.
So did Legacy items naturally goes away as intended or they still core of standard economy 4 years later after they became "feature".

also correlation is a formula... based on actual numbers and shit.
A correlation goes into a formula and it isn't a formula itself. It's a premise/axiom.

nah there is a formula for the pearson correlation coefficient, or how strongly two variables are linearly dependent.
Data as a basis for a value is not a formula; it is just formulaic in presentation. A result as a premise for another conclusion.

This is too far off-topic though but it's explained in Math Phil. how that works.

Hrm

are you people blind?

Here, i fixed your picture.

Open beta did not start until January 23rd.
The whole science of opinion research is based on correlation.

If I want to know how many people are buying US cars in a country, I send researchers out to ask a limited number, and by the amount of them buying US cars I can tell you how many percent of the whole population of the country is buying US cars.

The same is true for the correlation between numbers of players and numbers of players visiting the forums on a regular base.

If one of these numbers rise/fall the other one rises/falls proportional as the percentage of those players who visit the forums on a regular base will always stay more or less the same, irrespective of the total number of players.

There is simply no reason why a bigger playerbase should have less persons visiting the forums or vice versa.

Btw: The same correlation is made to guess the numbers of residents in many medium sized US cities. They just take the box offices numbers of this city, as the percentage of people visiting cinemas out of the total population is very constant, so if box office numbers rise, the population of the city is growing. It´s not as adequate as having a complete census, but it is very close to that and way cheaper.
since op likes food so much.

There is a pizzaria in town but nobody goes in. Are they close to being bankrupt? <- people not visiting the website.

No, because people order food via the phone to get it delivered. <- people still getting their pizza playing the game

You seem to underestimate how annoyed people are by all the whining and double/triple threads on the forum hence not visiting it anymore.

I still play, 99% of times solo, with minimal trading and enjoying the game. Don't really care whether or not its popular or how many people are still playing it.

Don't be stupid. The reach % obviously peaked once in late December, but the average reach % during closed beta was at about 0.003%. The average atm is 0.008% so saying the popularity has dropped to closed beta levels is plain wrong.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
