dude, measurements are in diff units. You don't supply the info if you reset the total consumption between the measurements for the bottom to be any meaningful, and even if you did the time diff indicates ~1 min which makes this meaningless due to time error/booting time/etc etc... honestly man, if you don't know, just don't

i don't because its meaningless... but explain to me- why did you change it?

if you want to do this proper, measure total energy consumed over a long enough time for both games where things like booting time+ time you take to set the timer etc can be negligible. and make sure the ratio of actively playing vs interacting with menu screens is the same for both games.... gl!
Made a similar post in another thread but my experience with this patch echoes what everyone else has shared. My CPU/GPU is all maxed and causing so many issues. I've tried anything and everything I can find but the problems persist and I wish we had some sort of ETA of when this is supposedly supposed to get better over time if that is the case.

I attempted to stream today (I haven't been able to since engine patch because it causes issues) and basically just spent 40 min trying to solve the problem on stream. You can see that going 800x600 resolution helped my mic stop clipping but everything else would still lag or stutter in maps.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
RAM 16.0 GB
No idea what happend but the game is like unplayable after this patch and keeps crashing when you do try to play (1 fps and 1k ms) cpu and gpu are like way higher then normal
Ryzen 5600.
32GB of 3200MHz RAM.
1660 Super.
The game is installed on a 500GB Gen 3 NVMe drive.

I wouldn't say the game is unplayable for me but it is noticeable that performance has taken a hit. Also noticed that my GPU is only using maybe 1.5GB of VRAM whereas other games happily push that up to 5GB of VRAM. The 1660 Super has 6GB of VRAM in total.

But I would agree pushing out a POE2 graphics update onto POE1 at this stage wasn't a good move.

Every option like shadows etc all on the lowest. DX11. Vsync on. DC and MT are both on and default settings in terms of target FPS. The resolution is 1080p.

Same problem. Ever since the last patch, the game freezes at various points (usually either when monsters spawn or some audio should play, like Einhar saying something).
Since I saw the shader bar shoot up each time it happened, I tried deleting the shader cache but that didn't help. I'm re-installing the game now to see if that helps.

(Well, I had planned to try SC one league. I guess this would be a good time to do that. XD)

Update 3:
Setting the minimum CPU power state to 100% in the power options was a massive improvement.

Update 2: Somehow I managed to get the game running completely normally again.

Here is what I did:
1) opened the nVidia control panel in Start
2) set the profile to Balanced
3) went to "Manage 3D settings"
4) set the "Shader cache size" to "Unlimited"
(Now I see that this is the solution suggested by DistributedAutomaton. Independently verified, then :-D )

Update: Re-installing the game incl. deleting its folder in AppData, and then switching to Vulcan improved the situation quite a bit, but it's still not perfect.

Rendering is not my area of expertise, but I suspect that this might be relevant from the Client.txt:

Same here before the Patch the Game was perfectly playable and now i get 40 fps in my hideout and in maps it drops below 30 and stutters so much.

The Shader Bar is constantly maxing out and then my cpu and gpu usage goes to 100% and the whole Game starts lagging/the fps drops hard.

Every time you delete shaders (or reinstall the entire game) shaders have to be fetched again by the game which can cause hitching until it's finished.

If you're still stuttering even a good while after the shaders have had a chance to do their thing, try disabling multi-threading in the graphics options, at the very bottom of the menu. It might help smooth gameplay, but at a cost of an overall framerate reduction. This is not an ideal solution but might help in the short term.

At this point there are so many people with both high and low end systems having issues, but there's no evidence that any of this is going to be addressed. The last word I saw from GGG was to let shaders download, and that was all. I think a large chunk of players aren't going to be able to continue playing unless these issues can be resolved.
