PoE 2 Account Banned for no reason?
I'd be shocked if they weren't aware and investigating. While they could ad-hoc unban accounts that reach out, I'm sure they're spending time trying to find the root cause, collect all of the users who were impacted, address the issue, and then have an internal post-mortem on it. Ad-hoc unbanning prior to fixing the root cause would be more frustrating if those same users encounter the issue again and find themselves here not once, but twice.
Don't forget: the folks working at GGG are people who have been under immense stress getting a high profile release out the door prior to the holidays. I know it sucks – heck, I'm impacted too! – but it's best to have a moment of patience here. Working in high visibility consumer facing spaces can be difficult, especially with a release and holidays all at once. Last edited by hesham8#4339 on Dec 10, 2024, 7:34:25 PM

" I understand that GGG might be working on the issue and trying to figure out the root cause, and while that’s important, it doesn’t change what we’re going through as players. We’ve lost access to accounts we’ve invested time and money into, and there’s no sign of when, or if, this problem will be resolved. The lack of meaningful updates only makes things worse. Instead of clear communication, all we get are template responses, which do nothing but make us feel ignored and trampled on. We’re not asking for miracles, just transparency and a sense that this is being handled with urgency. Right now, it feels like we’ve been left in the dark, and that’s incredibly disheartening. |

The most interesting part that I've uncovered from my research is that this has been happening in PoE 1 forever also right around level 40.
If you google PoE banned at level 40 you'll find multiple threads, here's a steam one from 2017 and a couple 2020 where people encountered the same issue. https://steamcommunity.com/app/238960/discussions/0/3540329659710238611/ https://steamcommunity.com/app/238960/discussions/0/1290691308577561872/ https://steamcommunity.com/app/238960/discussions/0/3540329659710238611/ Here are two in this official forum from 2021: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3040563 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3039068 It's obviously been going on forever, there has to be some type of check that happens at level 40 and for some reason people get potentially false flagged and banned. If it's been in PoE for 7+ years and was never fixed I don't have high confidence it's suddenly going to be fixed in PoE 2 without the manual support process. It's kind of insane though, I know I personally haven't done anything in PoE2 that would cause me to be banned, and I haven't used the banned account since like 2013 (the one that got banned was my old standalone account and not the 2018 once which I'm pretty sure was my Steam account I made to play the Delve Season). The fact that it's affecting people who spent $100+ in PoE 1 and obviously had long-standing accounts is a pretty big issue though. For that level of monetization, you would 100% expect a ticket to be looked at within 24 hours and resolved by day 3-4 which many of us are on now. This would be the norm for other online games that have a sub or box model and also for larger F2P games. Last edited by Strifeyy#4191 on Dec 10, 2024, 8:13:49 PM

" I think this is reasonable. While I understand there is congestion with support, and it’s reassuring that some people remain optimistic about GGG handling this, many of us—including myself—are relying purely on blind faith. My last support email to GGG, submitted about two weeks ago, received no reply. This was even before Early Access was released. Based on that experience and the current situation, I’m genuinely concerned. I don’t know when, or even if, we’ll get to play again. I’m preparing myself for the possibility that this could take weeks. |

I spoke too soon.
My account was just unbanned. Hopefully everyone else will be unbanned as well! |

" Good to hear tho, mine is still banned ! When did this happened to you ? when did you appeal? for me is 48 hours. |

Friends. I see I'm not the only one facing this problem. my account has been banned for 60 hours now and I have not received any response so far.
Those of you who have been unblocked, how long have you been waiting for this? The nickname of my blocked account SteeaRat#5749 |

" I submitted the appeal yesterday at 10:21 am my time, so just under 24 hours (22 hours). I also emailed them and made a post here on the forums. I'm not sure if the extra exposure helped to expedite it or not. It's also possible that they have identified the issue and are now lifting the bans in no particular order. |

" Alright, i hope you're right, thank you for the answer. Enjoy your functionnal account :) |

I do not know if it is a coincidence or not, but I was unblocked 2 minutes after the previous post
