PoE 2 Account Banned for no reason?

My main got locked also this morning
bump
My main iliasna#6029 is still banned.

i sent an appeal the moment i was unjustly banned 3 days ago and have not heard anything back yet? how come people are able to send an appeal and get an unban within 3 hours. its been 3 days of my paid time off thats gone to waste where is the justice in all of this?

I do not have this issue but I noticed that every person who got banned has an account from 2012-2013. I didn't check everyone, just clicked some names at random. Maybe the system is flagging inactive old accounts that suddenly became active again? Perhaps it was the target of a hacking attempt at one point (old accounts are often targeted).

That tracks with me also; When I came back for PoE 2 I linked an old 2012 account with my more recent steam account I played in 2018.

Honestly I didn't even remember that I had the 2012 account but it was linked to the email I typically use for game accounts and I do recall I played it early on probably in beta still?

That's the one that got banned (when I switch accounts at the top) and is currently still in appeal, not this one which is the 2018 account.

Short-sighted to consider people with old accounts wouldn't play PoE 2 and are getting flagged by this level 40 thing.

Bump. Still banned.
Yea I'm starting to think that people are having this issue because their 10+ year old (mostly inactive) accounts got flagged by some sort of auto-ban system. It's just my speculation, but there's so many people here who all seem to have very old accounts.

As to why the system would allow you to play to level 40 before banning you, this can be explained by how companies usually deal with banning. Most companies ban people such as cheaters in waves rather than directly banning them upon detecting a cheat. The reason they do this is because you don't want to give the people who are being banned any information as to how they were caught. For example, if you banned a cheater right away, he'd be able to figure out which part of his cheat program is triggering the anti-cheat. The cheater would be able to modify his cheats in the future to "test" the anti-cheat system by checking whether or not it triggers a ban. By delaying the ban you effectively rob them of that ability.

GGG mentioned their support line is currently being flooded with tickets so that's probably going to delay the response for a lot of people here. I would avoid writing walls of text (such as this post lol) when you contact them, keep it as short as humanly possible and ditch all irrelevant information. Write 2-3 lines at most because chances are the person reading your message does not have time to read your essay.

It's seems I've been unbanned, I haven't heard back from my appeal/e-mail, but I can log in to PoE2 again.
Just got banned on Xbox at level 40. Only played one time 8 or so years ago in poe1. This really sucks.
same here, i also got unbanned, but still banned on the website....

i can play the game, but the status of my account didnt change.

Update : It didnt change, i had to launch the game at least once first.

This is my main account btw.

It's sad the way it got resolved, not even an email to explain why, or apologies for all the time wasted and the worries.

Worst support i had to deal with so far.
