[POE 2] Loot Disappears On Death

"
lol same thing happened to me in Deshar Act 2 the two "yellow" elite birds that bounce around like their on speed. They smashed me, grenade killed them and I saw a legendary drop Rock Greaves. I respawn 2 feet away, loot was gone... *deep deep sigh*

Yeah, same with them. Killed em, saw a Staff legendary and stood like retard for a couple secs and some spell from them still was happening.

UPD: Actually I was lucky and first try didn't count, re-killed pack, but ofc 0x legendaries :)

STILL HAPPENING. Start of act 2, killed boss. Dropped loot. Flood of mobs showed up to finish me off. LOOT GONE. wtf is this???

+1 Happened to me after killing Rathbreaker, the ambush got me and after ress at checkpoint and the loot was gone. I remember one unique wand and a few other stuff.

I still want to believe that this is not by design but a bug.
I'll give GGG that much.

If it is an intentional idea - it's dumb beyond a reasonable doubt.

Same thing here.

Very unfortunate and made me have to step away for a little.
not playing with this in place. seems intentional. what a colossus way to ruin an otherwise good experience

Same here.I just reached Chapter 2 and defeated the first boss, which dropped my very first legendary staff. Before I could pick it up, I was swarmed by monsters and killed. This kind of design is really frustrating.

SAME! this sucks!!
I must concur with many of you here!

This feels absolutly wrong!!!

TL:DR
Spoiler

I have played POE 1 since closed beta and it really is my favorit game of all time! (yes I am old :D)

Of all "loot" based games I've played. I have never seen this "mechanic" unless it is on hardcore modes. I really don't see the point of making you do EVERYTHING again when you die on a farm and loot based arpg - and on top of this you get trolled with potential loot that you miss out on UNLESS you just focus on picking it up as fast as possible... Gold gets picked up automatically and you don't lose this? So why lose potential good loot? - It makes zero sense for standard mode of the game!

Where is the fun in taking focus away from the action and feeling like a FOMO loser constantly, because you have to sit there and stare at the ground ready to click loot...

So yes, sure keep this for hardcore mode and be as punishing as you want to us on standard too...but this FOMO loot system is ridiculous and serves no purpose on standard what so ever! - So for people who enjoy this kind of loot trolling and likes to be punished over and over, players can go play hardcore. - Problem solved.

Forcing players to have this loot system goes against every bone in my body!
Sure the idea of losing xp for instance when you die makes sense...but that doesnt happen during early game... really? Why would you keep xp and gold, but lose potential loot that we desperatly need in early game?

Sadly ive lost interest in POE 2 for now and will go back to POE 1

Here is me hoping they scap this system ASAP and bring in some commen sense!
You can start a new instance. Its not the perfect solution and your loot will most likely change. However you can kill the boss. Not sure if this has been posted or not.

Just want to echo the sentiments here that loot disappearing from the ground on death feels terrible. Apart from not making sense it just seems arbitrary what's the design justification?
