Absolutely disapointed -- This game is hard, and not in a fun way.

Not sure why people that like this much harder rage bore fest keep suggesting everyone else find a new game. Why don't you all go play Dark Souls or whatever one of those games I don't enjoy in the slightest.

POE 1 for me was that I could enjoy my time and not have to focus on a freaking master class in how to do specific builds and could play with whatever skills I wanted to. The end game when I partook in that was where I had to sign myself up for PHD level courses and scour the internet NOT PLAYING the game to actually PLAY THE GAME. POE 2 is now THAT from the get go. That is not fun for casuals such as myself who play some of the end game. Those thinking this is going to maintain the same amount of a player base in this form are dreaming.

Those folks that like their Dark Souls will conquer this and then move on to the next challenge when they become bored of this. Those of us that can go through the campaign hundreds of times and still come back for more every season will not be here to support this anymore.
If combat wasn't so boring, it would be forgivable.

Bullet sponge enemies are horseshit.
It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth -
playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp.

personally, i think they shouldve released a game like this under a different name. people expected something very specific when they heard about a sequel, and this is not a sequel. its a really really good game, but this is not what poe is.

from 1.0 to 2.x POE was a slower game I loved that slower POE... I expected GGG to nerf and balance instead of giving in to you cookie clicker lovers. But what happened was they sort of collapsed under the weight of their own technical mistakes (scoping mistakes) and ended up giving in and making POE2 to overcome those mistakes without pissing off the existing POE1 speed freaks.

People forget the clear speed meta stemmed out of Vaal FB and Spark, popularized by a couple dudes making that meta like BakedChiken and Empy not THAT long ago. POE1 it self wasn't always "what people expect".

I could argue you don't even have a right to expect POE1 to have the dumb pacing it has. Except that GGG visibly gave up trying to slow it down due to the vocal zoomers, and just let the game get dumber and dumber.

Many old school streamers and many a forum voice pushed back against "the clear speed meta" 5-6 years ago we wanted POE to remain/go back to a sensible pace. Eventually everyone gave up and the whole game ended up tuned for the "ludicrous speed" feeling like a parody of an ARPG complete with actual dumpster quantities of loot filtered out per screen.

In any case people didn't have a right to "expect" POE1's pacing. They already have that and GGG told you what they were making and they even forked it when some of you clear speed people started complaining it looked too slow. BECAUSE THEY WANTED A GAME WITH SENSIBLE COMBAT PACE THAT WASN'T BRAIN DEAD.

Stop trying to ruin ANOTHER POE for me and everyone who got sick of or bounced off of POE1 due to the goofy pace.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

POE 2 Feedback

The Good
Visually Stunning enviroments
Mob type diversity is great
Bosses feel interesting and different
No portal scrolls
Massive endgame

The Bad
Dodgeroll ( I don’t play dark souls nor have the desire to)
Gem system ( cant use multiple of the same type of supports for different spells is not good) POE 1 is superior
Lack of loot POE1 is superior
Lack of currency POE 1 is superior
Crafting system is bad where you can brick an item and feel like you just have to throw it away. POE 1 vastly superior
Getting pinned by monsters and dieing
Being forced to do sanctum for trials
Feeling weak at every moment after 12+ hours of gameplay
The feeling that you are crawling instead of blasting
Did I mention so slow Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I was very excited for early access. Everyone was hyped. GGG did a good job of handling launch given the huge numbers that it drew. I started the game and was impressed with how visually stunning it was. The first boss fight in the first zone felt hard and I was like “ok I will get stronger from here on out”. But that feeling stronger never came. I never got faster either. It was just grueling crawl after crawl. I was playing POE2 thinking to myself “ I wish they could take the world , bosses and endgame and just port it to POE1”. At no point did the game feel good. I kept telling myself “ If I hold out a little longer it will get better”.

The wheel is just fine without your attempts to reinvent it.

Up till this part you pretty much wrote down my feelings. I've stopped playing on day two because aside from what you mentioned, classes are incredibly imbalanced.
The majority of the skills are kinda meh forcing you to play a certain way and even that is lackluster on my character.

I'm not making it up when I say I have to hit the boss over 500 times to down it which is unreasonable, especially if flasks don't regenerate.
Now I could reroll and play a sorceress or whatever to make everything easier but that's not really what I intended to do.

Long story short, this game is going to need a lot of work to make it viable which is fine since it's an early release. Player count matters and it's current state the vast majority will be burned out or tired within a week is my estimate thus changes are guaranteed to come.

I am a bit confused how most of the common and reasonable complaints were not addressed during the closed beta or even by their own employees. Certain classes are barely able to complete the game, it's not a "git gud" thing, it's a huge oversight.

Nope. Screw you, tryhard "git gud" condescending pricks.

We will complain and not play and not give GGG any money on either of the games until they listen.

One of two things will happen:

1. they comply and make this playable
2. they don't, this dies just like Ruthless and they go back to investing in PoE1

Either way, you lose an we'll rejoice.

Tedious is exactly the description I would use.

Bring this up in any thread you will be told the testers were awesome brilliant "skilled" players who adore and live for tedium (and consider dodge/dodge/dodge dance the apex of their skill set) and we find this boring and unrewarding are just plebs. There are three cheer leaders on this board who will keep telling you this: If you dislike PoE2 for any reason, you are a PoE1 lazy idiot and PoE2 is beyond your skills or grasp.

What's frustrating is that apparently most of my own complaints as well as most of the complaints I've been seeing were frequently brought up in the beta, before being summarily ignored. They knew people didn't like it, and went ahead with what we have anyway.
General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.

Oh dear, I need to prepare myself for massive Ls I guess, what am I to do!
There's been a lot of good feedback and discussion in this thread so far, from varying view points.

To the few people who insist on trolling, baiting, sniping at others, those who can't conduct a conversation with civility and respect, could you perhaps take that attitude elsewhere. It's not helpful at all.
