Stop allowing streamers to have input on Gauntlet.

I think hardcore events would be fine but they don't allow people to engage with it in a healthy way for example again making it so hardcore-challenge players who die transfer to standard-challenge, That would increase engagement a lot more than a gauntlet and once participation levels are high enough that would be a good time to run hardcore content.

But the way things are is that most people play Standard Challenge and a lot of them cant handle losing their character so i ask you the same question.

What about it was for the community?

it will NEVER be for every single person in the community, no matter what the event is. Stop trying to claim that it isn't "for the community" because a ton of people don't like it.

There are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of PoE players having a great time playing or watching the gauntlet. That alone makes it "for the community".

I've already said I hate HC and will never play a HC event EVER. But it is absolutely ridiculous, head-in-the-sand, to say these types of events aren't for the community.....who else would they be for?

The amount of complaints and insane forum posts about the NORMAL game on this forum would make you think that even the regular game also isn't for the community, based on how you are describing and putting these special events into a box.

If 0.000001% of the community plays there, I'd say a streamer probably.

How is gauntlet not for the community?

I loved this gauntlet. Made about 15 characters trying to kill hillock. Finally swapped to champion and made it to vaal temple. Died on overseer, called it a day. Had a blast with the game being actually difficult and every drop being rewarding, examining every rare.

For reference I am a SC-Trade player, and I don't see the issue with the event being HC-SSF. It is not excluding SC players, and losing your gauntlet character has no impact on your actual character.

Enjoy the event until you die, and then either make a new character, or go back to playing your normal character. Your FOMO about losing a good drop is not the same as the event "not being for the community."

The point being made here is that most sc players don't want to ever touch hardcore in their life, they hate the very idea of losing a character to any death, whether its a dc or a oneshot. That's why they play sc trade.

This event is most definitely not for the community as a whole, its niche. That's all.

I get that you're being dramatic, but that is a problematic way to make your point because it most certainly is NOT that small. And we KNOW its not that small. There are thousands playing and thousands more watching. It is one of the single most popular events in PoE history across the playerbase. You are deliberately setting up a non-existent strawman to defend a point that doesn't have a leg to stand on (which is why you are making up this number).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAN3hDfQY-4

I would also challenge you and others to name a SINGLE special event that was "for everyone". Because I can guarantee they don't exist. Some are for a larger audience (generally EASIER), and some are for a smaller audience (generally HARDER).

Was "krangled passives" for everyone? Hell no
Was "mayhem" for everyone? Hell no
Was the Battle Royale for everyone? Hell no

just slapping a 1-week or 2-week time limit on an event, any event, eliminates probably a MAJORITY of the playerbase from ever participating.

Folks are just arbitrarily picking on the gauntlet mostly because its NOT controlled by GGG. But I bet the next HC GGG event that gets released doesn't get this kind of treatment from people in this thread.

Could the gauntlet be more inclusive? Of course it can. In many different ways. But that's not the point, nor is it what the creators wanted from the event. I would be playing it too if they had a SC event, but I'm not going to make up things about the event just because I personally don't want to play it.

Oh if the next official GGG event is in hardcore I would complain on this forum about that a lot lol, the whole point of those events was just something to do when players are bored with the normal league. Restricting it like that would make 0 sense.

We did had HC exclusive GGG events before in the past, so it wouldn't be a first one of them decide to do their own end of league events.
It wouldn't help to complain about something absurd like that cause even GGG got their proper reasons to run HC exclusive events from time to time.
Best to let go of this stubborn "I don't play hc" mindset and just login and enjoy the event like everyone else.
But fomo seems to be out of control these days, in various ways.

I am literally incapable of playing hc. I can't stand the idea of dying and losing so much progress, even exp loss and losing portals is too much for me in softcore.

So I can't just login and enjoy the event lol

?? Every single event is "restricted" in who its going to attract. It is the very nature of being a one-time event to be restrictive.

Yet another example:
Endless Delve. What about those of us that never play delve? It is already restricted at its core to a small subset of players that like the delve gameplay.

Just don't die during the event, problem solved.
