POLL: Did Exilecon increase or decrease your overall hype for POE and POE 2?
Neutral leaning decrease.
I will leave full judgement until it's released and I play a few builds, if it's going the way I see then I'll be done and just move on. |

My hype for the games increased but the timelines were incredibly deflating for the beta. Announcing this in 2019 was a mistake.

" In 2019, GGG was a LOT closer to completing the announced expansion to PoE 1. Had they not then changed their minds and secretly funneled resources into creating a whole, new game, complete with myriad new systems and changes, I submit that we might already have PoE 2, as it was originally presented. ='[.]'= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

" That's the thing, although I liked what I saw, that decision makes no sense to me, no matter what they said (and they didn't say much about that). I don't see how they'll be able to do major content/expansions for both games. What happens when POE 2 is released, splitting the community or worst, leaving POE 1 with not enough players to justify keeping it alive? This "play one than the other" is bullshit, people have other things to do. That's the reason I gave credit to the people who were saying the reason they did it could be because they were not that confident with the changes, but now I just think their plan is to kill POE 1 once 2 is released. Anyway, still a long way until closed beta |

Decrease. Just because I never liked long bossfights in ARPG's, I never signed up for that. There is a lot of good stuff but the obvious fact that bosses is the core of PoE2 is the thing that killed it for me. And the release date of course, but I can get over that if I knew not 75% of all the dev time went to boss designs.
It did however increase my irge to play the next league again, despite me having medical issues right now that prevent me from playing a bigger amount of time. Last edited by leto2626 on Aug 1, 2023, 10:43:12 AM

Decrease.
PoE2 doesn't excite me anymore after I saw that we have to whack trash mobs a gazillion times before they fall. If I want that I can as well play Kotticks Dumpster Fire 4. Don't know about the next PoE1 league, though... I mean, on paper even Crucible sounds good, but the execution was... lets use the term "RNG heavy". Decreased, because there wasn't actually that much new info.
First they completely killed the hype by announcing the beta for June 2024 (it's a closed beta at that, I dread how that will work) I think most people expected the beta to come much sooner than that. Gameplay was painful to watch because of how overtuned the difficulty was, it was mostly about combat being hard and not much else. They didn't talk about the skill tree, ascendancies etc. There were some highlights like the new trailer and couple of dev talks. Overall a disappointment for me, GGG could have shared much more info considering how long the development is already. | |
Definitely decreased.
The teasers from over a month ago looked awful so I was expecting the demo to be a slow, boring shitshow. I was correct yet again. But I really hope I end up being wrong when it releases and it ends up being a fun, fast-paced experience. |
