POLL: Did Exilecon increase or decrease your overall hype for POE and POE 2?
They just need to get this game out the door already. The gameplay reveal was almost friggin 4 years ago. That's just insane. And now we're still looking at a closed beta a year from now. If things work out that is, which they really haven't so far...
Something must have gone really wrong here. We're looking at what, a 7-8 year dev time here for a pseudo sequel with lots of stuff already in place? I've been playing online games since the late 90s and the only things similar to this are straight up vaporware and stuff that's been in development hell forever like Star Citizen. Ninja. Neither, until the second part comes out I will of course continue to play the first and then of course try the second and then decide if its good or nah. However, I doubt that I will actively play both (different) leagues parallel every 1,5 Month. Aint nobody got time for that!

Decreased, sadly.
Very concerned about the direction they are taking with ruthless POE 2, by slowing combat and dramatically simplifying crafting. I know I enjoy POE 1 gameplay, but now it won't get some of the big updates I had been looking forward to and it will have to compete with its own sequel for players. |

I hate the word hype, and everything it stands for....therefore I avoid being hyped, for anything.
That being said, I liked what I've seen so far. POE is a game I've been playing for ten years, and honestly, it started getting stale. It's still an insanely good game, but it's just......you get it. POE 2 is exactly what I need to feel the same emotions I did for POE back in the day. But when the time comes, I'll play POE 1 alongside POE 2 with the most of my time focused on POE 2. Overall, for me POE 2 is all buffs. Last edited by lupasvasile#5385 on Aug 2, 2023, 2:42:28 PM

Dont you guys have phones?
Maybe poe mobile will be better. |

I was under the impression that it would stay 1 game with 2 campaigns same endgame (Poe 1 and poe 2 players teaming up in hideouts maps)
Also golddrops in poe 2 feel sketchy Next thing we know we get p2w loot goblins |

After playing for ten years, and being positively surprized more often than not by GGG and their choices for Path of Exile I can only say that I'm very curious right now :)
I will give it a chance! Sometimes not sticking to the main plan can be a good thing, and in that case while many people see that as a "split", I mostly see that as the least damaging choice. It provide GGG with an opportunity and some freedom to build something new, different and more modern, while ensuring people that like Path of Exile as it is now will still be able to keep enjoy it fully and actively. Wait and see? What do you think? Hf :) Last edited by Heli0nix#0378 on Aug 2, 2023, 5:13:19 PM

Increase.
I don't mind slow gameplay, as long as we don't get oneshot by hyperfast moving abominations like in PoE1 sometimes. The very reason why we even enjoy zoom zoom gameplay, deleting screens of monsters with the press of one button, is because at one point in our playthroughs we struggled with these monsters. A game that just hands the player their obligatory +100% MS and insane damage buffs for free will end up feeling hollow, like one of those shovelware mobile games that shoots out so many colorful damage numbers in the millions after 5 minutes of gameplay, in the hopes that the player doesn't realize it doesn't have proper progression. |
