POLL: Did Exilecon increase or decrease your overall hype for POE and POE 2?
" fuck. when i heard the announcement, my heart dropped. i was legit asking myself. this is a big deal, is it not? i was in denial and kept watching everybit of the exilecon. trying to find scraps of hope. the more i understood poe2, the more i understood why it had to be made separate. but understanding the whys was not enough. it still is a betrayal. i have accepted i was betrayed. i probably will still play poe1. i probably still might buy supporter packs. but my wallet probably will be tighter than before. No interest in any cons.
Don't get hyped about anything. Just enjoy what I have. PoE2 is some year(s) away. Will be massively changed and might diablofy more (dodge, MMO elements etc). As of right now, I feel PoE1 leagues have more hype.
Increase. I love the changes. Love how the game will be slower and have more intimate combat. I don't care at all about them abandoning the poe1 framework of clearing entire screens of enemies in the span of a second. That is NOT good gameplay. That is an awful system designed to appeal to god mode gamers who want an easy mode and feel all mighty and all powerful.
I appreciate a more intimate approach where you are encouraged to observe your enemy and react accordingly. That is a phenomenal change rather than just spamming one dumb skill that you managed to exploit on rinse and repeat. DEVS: Please stick with your vision for poe2 and stop listening to the naysayers who are terrified of change. You can try to appeal to existing gamers who want an easy ride or you can create an international phenomenon and a game that can overtake Diablo4 in popularity if you play your cards right. Poe1 has limited appeal due to numerous gameplay and design decisions. You can move past that with poe2's new focus on thoughtful combat and rewarding mechanics centered around movement, tactics, survival, and skill variety. THANK YOU FOR THESE CHANGES. If someone wants a screen clearing simulator they can play poe1. Stick to your vision for poe2 and make sure it's a BRAND new game.
" Its GGG's fault the game became so zoomy, It has nothing to do with the playerbase so please don't make statements like that suggesting that PoE1 players made it this way. They even called out one of their own devs and blamed him for the speed problem.(which there's no way its just that guys fault, give me a break) So what now? Are the players the problem or is it the developer? Innocence forgives you Last edited by SilentSymphony on Aug 6, 2023, 8:12:38 AM

" ppl fast to forget that poe 1 is Vision :D but i guess that vision is wrong. but hell we a wrong for wanting to feel powerful in ARPG game. i guess wrong game genre for that
Been playing since open beta, exile con only had a little interest from me the first time they did it. Like BB King said the thrill is gone! And to announce an open beta almost a year away really does sound like a "Con" but I hope everyone enjoyed it haha.

" I have a hard disagree with this take. There's telegraphed attacks for Shaper, Elder, Siris, Atziri, Iazaro, the pinnacle bosses and even your typical map boss fanfare in Maven Invitations. The difference between them and PoE2 bosses is that you've memorized everything from PoE1 and can do it in your sleep. There's nothing so technical from the PoE2 demos that suggest you can't do those bosses in your sleep after fighting them 1 or 2 times. There's no need to "observe", you'll be face rolling them while watching Netflix on your other monitor. And if the skill combos sound impressive; again, who hasn't played WoW and rolled through builders/spenders and situational CC/CDs... while also watching Netflix on another monitor. A lot of people compare PoE2 to 'Dark Souls' combat - First of all, Dark Souls's combat is far less impressive once you've memorized all the attack patterns. Secondly, Dark Souls is a curated experience that lasts maybe 40 hours--Imagine how little of a challenge it would be after a few hundred hours (a single PoE league). People around here attributing things to Poe2 that simply don't exist in any game after you've put dozens or hundreds of hours into it. That just isn't a thing for PvE content.
Decrease.
For all of the people who consider PoE a 2nd job, PoE 2 says, "Hold my beer..." 8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

" The conductor of this train of thought is drunk. From your character sheet, you haven't reached above level 87 in 9 years. How do you know what the endgame's like? You don't even know what the trypical gameplay loop is like for a league starter? Your statements above seem to make it sound like everyone is using full-mirrored sets and then running alch and go maps. Can every build withstand shaper slam? What about Nemesis t16 rares lol. Of course people have to pay attention to telegraphing, etc. You've put quite a bit of effort into making the main goal of most PoE players - Build development - sound bad. And you don't care about abandoning PoE framework because you don't even play it lol! "I Like this though I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game. Decrease. I'm an old fart and not the best PoE player, but I still enjoy playing it and run maps. I always get my 4 voidstones and atlas points, but not without dying to some bosses. There's no way in hell I'll ever do Maven without dying to that annoying memory game.
With resetting bosses in PoE 2 it looks like PoE 1 will continue to be my main game, I just hope there'll be enough players to make trade work and that ggg will continue making interesting leagues, though I'm a little sceptical when it comes to this. Will try PoE 2 of course, but I think it'll be a little too hardcore for me. Last edited by Piquet75 on Aug 7, 2023, 6:14:26 AM
