The Self Found League
even if they wont do perm sfl, i dont see the reason not to have a much longer solo race, since they are already in.
Just make a one week solo and see how it goes Dogs Summoner - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/885199

" yeah but its the best way to go for it, since solo races are already a thing Dogs Summoner - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/885199

I like this idea very, very, very much. Self-found league needed.

So, is it happening yet?
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

While I don't think this will fix ALL my problems with this game (which is still very fun), I definitely think I would enjoy this game a lot more without the trading aspect, and having it balanced around not having trading.
Signed my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes ----- Bug Fixes: People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it. Last edited by Legatus1982#1658 on Feb 28, 2014, 1:08:15 AM

I have not really played in the last weeks, don't really know why, but I think I'm just kind of bored not being able to run hard maps without having to trade for them (which I don't have the currency to do). Last and only map I runned in the past weeks was a Bazaar with arround 100iiq which yielded... wait for it... only one lvl 66 map !
Now, I just read forum waiting for SotV and hoping it'll give me hard content to fight without having to trade for it. Or that it'll contain the long-awaited paid custom leagues so that we can create our own SLF (but I know it won't happen though, those were just a marketing lie, it doesn't take 3 years to implement this shit when leagues & races already exists :) So anyway, just to annoy Chris : here is my bump to the SFL thread ! Chris: "Path of Exile’s economy is the most important element of the game to us".

Bad news:
If this league happens, the main problem would still remain the same; can't get lucky with orb rolls, don't find enough of the right stuff, right mods, etc. The crafting and orbs need to be redesigned to work. It's broken now and having a SFL wouldn't fix anything. It would ironically make all players in there wish that they were able to trade with others to get what they need. "Im smartest. Your stoped. Dael wiht it."

I don't think you are right Quantume. It would change the balance and the progression in the game very much. And thus it would drastically change the moment when it feels totally pointless to play more.
For instance, now if I run lvl 69 maps with my main char, it's just useless. I don't get any XP from it (or at least a ridiculously low amont). I get a few alts & chaos that can only be used to trade anyway (if I craft with them, i'm stuck anyway for the last rolls where I need exalts, thus I know it won't improve my gear). The low level uniques I find are pointless, because I could buy them all for 1c. If I were in SFL, finding those uniques would be way better, since it would enable other builds. Finding a Searing Touch in a SFL would be really usefull for instance, since I know I would need one if I want to start a fire build. In Standard, I had absolutely no joy finding one, since I know I could by it for a ridiculous price. This is just one little example, but there could be way more of it. SFL would change the difficulty curve and the progression in ways that can't even be anticipated, and thus it could fix many problems. I, like many others, am convinced that it would increase the durability and the satisfaction of the grind by a huge margin. The main argument for this is that without trading, the progression curve wouldn't be linked to the price curve, and thus would be more continuous. Because the price curve (it was the same in D3, it'll be the same in any market place) is such that all "bad", "mediocre", "acceptable" and "good" items have really low prices, and "very good" / "BiS" items have very very very high prices. Thus, with trading, you very quickly progress in gear, and then stop for a very very long time. In SFL it would be more continuous. I don't even know why I have to keep repeating those economic arguments, it has been tested and proven in D3 over a WAY bigger player base, and the same conclusions have been reached. The beauty is that even if I'm wrong, we risk nothing trying it ! People would just go back to the next 4 months leagues sooner if SFL tires quickly. No harm done ! And of course, in addition, there would be the (taboo) possibility of increasing drop rate in SFL (boo, entitlement blabla 5 days to get BiS, so bad idea blabla, leagues must not be easier that standard, ..., insert more useless arguments there), mainly for map drops (and possibly for exalts too, so we can craft), so we can fucking fight hard monsters all the time. But as I explained, SLF could work even without this buff.
