oh, wait, you dont understand!!! A HC player cannot play with a SC player, duh.

You didn't understand my point, which I take responsibility for because I didn't word it in the best way.

The reason why the HC player doesn't want the SC items is because that defeats the whole point of HC. Apply this logic to the SFL. SF players do not want other player's items; that would defeat the whole point of the league. If you want to be able to receive and give items to other players, don't play in the SFL.

I meant something more along the lines of what to do with items you chars dont need other than vendoring them?

The same thing you do if you play solo, save for a reroll.

This does depending on SF rules. Most SF players that I know of allow shared inventory among all characters owned by one player.

That shouldnt be the case though because you should use gear on the char it was found with only. Isnt it like trading if you can give your other chars gear from 1 farming char?

Again, it depends on the rules. Is the item account bound or character bound? Either way you would have to find the item yourself, thus self found.

exactly. if you want to base your gaming around playing "only" HCL then there is no reason to keep any items on SCL, as there would be no use for trading if your character dies.

There's a little confusion here. My previous post refereed to HC players playing in SC. A player can play HC in a SC league and just delete the Character when it dies. I did not mean that when the HC character goes from HC to SC you can delete it. Thus there is no need for a HC league to even exist if this is so. This is true unless there is another reason that HC players would want their own league. That other reasons is the same for a SFL.

no one plays HC without being in a HCL. which completely ruins your thought of playing HC in a SCL

Wait, but why do HC players play in the HCL when they can play the HC style in SC?

you are sitting here trying to compare a Hardcore League with a Self-Found League. Hardcore League has been out for a very long time and in the vast majority of MMORPG games. now you are attempting to introduce another form of gaming that has been present but not welcomed by the vast majority of gamers and you are trying to compare the two. Hardcore is an In-Game Mechanic. Self-Found is a play style. two completely different things. when you think before you post next time maybe you will realize this (hopefully).

I don't see how that is relevant. I'm only commenting on this because you seem to think that me glossing over these parts is somehow sad.

That's your opinion, and again, I don't see how that is relevant to the topic at hand.

Game mechanics are constructs of rules intended to produce a game or gameplay.

Both hardcore and self found players play with certain rules that produce a certain gameplay. For hardcore it is premadeath and for self found it is permanent allocation.

You also didn't answer my question. Why do HC players play in the HCL instead of the SCL?

In 10 years every game will have a SFL. No-one would play games without one because people don't like being forced into one playstyle only, and everybody will look at these games as something that is (thankfully) from the past.

Also, ultimate question to every SFL hater. Why if the trading is god's blessing to us and just miracle, why the heck it failed in perfectly organised system Diablo 3 has? Why they are closing both RMAH and GAH? And, please dont tell me it differs from PoE. Anyway everyone is trying to measure costs in 1-2 currencies. So you can simple call chaos orb the gold coin and bah, you will consider other currencies as buy-able commodities. Sooner or later trading system in PoE will come to it.

D3 had a different trading system with easy access and non-personal buyouts/bidding. PoE uses player to player barter. I don't think comparing one's failure to the other is a great idea, but I might be missing something. If you can expand upon your reasoning more, it would be much appreciated.

Also, not all of the "SFL haters" are pro trading. From what it looks like, the ones here just don't see the need for a SFL or they think that the league is just some cover-up to have better drops than other leagues (which some SFL supports might actually be trying to do).
Would love to see this become a reality.
I don't care what the world says.
I'll love you lauren for the rest of my life.
Fuck the haters.
