" Correct, you don't. (At least as far as I can tell.) I respecced my Marauder into Famuel's version on a budget of about 150div -- so fairly decent -- and even with reasonably similar setup/mana/etc Ice Crash feels a bit more like a stutter-cast type of attack. Hit, get that big meaty chunk of health off, wait about half a second, hit again. Definitely more of a THWACK -- THWACK -- THWACK cadence than the usual POE smacksmacksmacksmack and so on at light speed unto infinity. |

You are correct in that you shouldn't just be holding down the ice crash button at all times, even in the OG version of the build. It's always more of an attack, brief pause for mana leech, attack again kind of system!
As for getting enough mana in the first place, you've got a few options. You can use Inspiration for your sixth link if you still really need to, and the Life Mastery that makes skills cost life instead of 15% mana cost. But do these below points first: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) MANA PROBLEMS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are having mana problems, try any of the following until it feels good: - Downlevel your cast when damage taken setup. I run level 2 CWDT with level 8 Blood rage + Molten Shell (2H variant only) - Take out one of your auto-exertion warcries. This should be 'Rallying Cry'. You can self-cast it until you fix your mana problems with the below options. - Get the craft 'Non-channeling skills have - mana cost' on your rings. You may need 2 to start with, but can drop to just using 1 in the endgame. - Get Cannibalistic Rite, and the Mana Mastery here on your tree. Makes skills cost a bit of life rather than mana, and the Mastery Gives '12% increased mana reservation efficiency of skills' - Get a small Cluster Jewel with 'Spiteful Presence' - this makes your Hatred Aura 50% more mana efficient, and is a big help. - Get corrupted rare jewels on your passive tree with the implicit modifier 'Increased mana reservation efficiency' Last edited by Famuel#6673 on Sep 23, 2024, 2:05:48 AM

As a general question, how are people running Famuel's Svalinn version scaling damage out of the mid- to high 10millions? I'm only sitting at 94 and haven't taken the far left Rage wheel yet, so I'm sure that's part of it, but I'm having a tough time breaking past ~17mil -- which just doesn't delete juiced exiles, Harvest bosses etc the way I'd like it to.
Mechanically I'm loving this character, and after spending most of the league hovering around the edges of T17s this feels like the correct build to dive into them with -- buuut I want to see him feeling just a little bonkier first. EDIT: I'm an idiot and forgot that I'm manually leveling my Awakened gems + running Inspiration instead of Cold Pen. Rage wheel + lvl 5 Awakeneds pushes the damage up to ~25-26mil, didn't even check when adding lvl5 Cold Pen would do. Still not perfect, but much better. " Okay some feedback for you! 1) Blacksmith's Clout is crazy good damage increase. It will top up your crit chance to 100% and also give you like 17% or more damage on a whole! 2) To save pathing points for getting this, you can investigate pathing back to the jewel socket above 'Deep Breaths', and take the blacksmith clout nodes + path along to the left. Then connect your tree up at the bottom, rather than going through 'Unwavering Stance' 3) If you do that, take Brine King pantheon and should be happy days. If you are still noticing stun may need to get some more increased stun threshold - or just take 'Unstoppable' again, and refund 'Unrelenting' for now. I've done this purely for the movement speed at the moment haha! 4) Next would be more elemental damage on rings 5) You can swap the point at 'Dismembering' to the crit multi rather than the crit chance and still be at 100% 6) Getting a better echoes of creation helmet with a 15% damage per exertion rather than 13% is gonna add almost 1 mil DPS on it's own 7) The rage nodes are HUGE with our medium cluster jewel setup. 40 rage permanently takes you from 17 mil dps to nearly 25 mil. Refund Galvanic Hammer to go towards making that work for sure, you have plenty of accuracy elsewhere 8) As you said, awakened gems to level 5 (preferably 6) are big increases as well 9) Awakened cold pen is nice, but you have Corrosive Elements. So you can stick with Inspiration for the extra crit chance and less mana cost there for now :) If you want to squeeze even more damage out, you can add level 5 awakened Cold Pen back in, and swap 'corrosive elements' for 'prismatic heart' instead which is a net increase in damage 10) 20% qual on your Arrogance, Enduring Cry, Faster Attacks will all give little nice QOL or a tiny bit of damage 11) Crit mastery for 25% crit multi vs unique enemies is huge when you can add that back in 12) If you're happy sacrificing a bit of HP and armour, you can refund 'Warrior's Blood' and the one % hp node above that, and path from 'Melee Damage and Life' at the start of the Marauder tree. 2.3% damage increase, and 3 points pathing rather than 7! So lots to play with there. You will be just shy of 4K life still without it. 13) If you do the above, you could even bring Galvanic Hammer back. Nearing 30 mil DPS now 14) More crit multiplier on rare jewels - I aim for 3 sources of it, and then another relevant stat (for me, % max life atm) 15) Finally it comes down to the expensive upgrade, which is gonna be a new 1H hammer. Eg) my one that cost me 40 Div would be a 22% upgrade over yours, which would take you to nearly 36 mil DPS! The crafter said he did it through recombination, and it took him 20ish div to make I believe. So if you are interested in that you can look into however you would make one with a crazy amount of phys damage on it! Hope some of that helps! I didn't even notice that my Echoes of Creation was 13%, I was so laser-focused on finding a low-rolled %damage taken one. (Which I now realize is effectively meaningless, no less.) That's a very excellent point. I actually already do run Brine King for simple Freeze immunity QOL -- disregarding your suggested major god, no less! -- so Unwavering Stance is probably overkill on top of that and that repathing makes a good amount of sense. Going to take a look at how to efficiently manage that. Crit multi on jewels has been quite the struggle with only two rare jewel slots to play with, fairly starved for stats, and one of the jewels needing to be my source of corrupted blood immunity -- I was reasonably pleased getting it up to 430%, but I'll see what's out there. That double Life + T1 %Attributes Hunter belt was a pain in the ass to roll but might give me enough flexibility to drop one of the +stats on a jewel in favor of another crit multi. Your smaller notes all make sense -- missed 20% qual on Arrogance etc, and of course the Awakened jewels need their levels. Rings could definitely be both T1 ele damage, although I wasn't the most displeased with their overall setup -- will probably end up swapping out the fractured one some day though, I'm still looking for ways to enhance my Chaos res as well and I'm sure that'll be part of it. The 1H... may have to wait lol. I don't hate the one I have at the moment, all things considered -- and getting a fractured base with one of the Phys stats at T2 or above is too rich for my blood atm lol. Wooohooooo! My first ever league going 40/40 challenges, and hitting level 100 too!
Thanks again to @HeroEvermore for your enthusiasm about this skill, it was infectious and I have had an absolute blast pushing this build as far as I could. My last challenge today was the Uber bosses, all of which I had never done before. May cobble together one more video for YouTube talking about the end state of my 1H build - but before then, here's the POB: Path of Building: ----------------- https://pobb.in/jbL9h1XCeo1R My Thresholds to hit were: -------------------------- - 4k+ life unreserved - 50k+ armour - 30k+ phys max hit - 1 mil+ EHP with 'Disable EHP gain on block' checked in config - 50 mil DPS when using fully automated flasks! I have hit all these milestones and feeling really really happy with the build. Here is the TL;DR of changes, it's all written in POB notes though! Changes: --------- - Adding in 'Tempest Shield', it gives such a stupid amount of Spell Block - Taking 'Sovereignty' at the top left of the tree, rather than Spell Block nodes to accommodate Tempest Shield - Prismatic Heart on the cold cluster jewel as we get cold exposure from awakened cold pen level 5 (but keep using Corrosive Elements if you need 'Inspiration' for mana purposes) - Cloth and Chain + Armour Mastery there for huge armour boost - Experimented with Brine King pantheon to refund 'Unstoppable' ascendancy. This is very viable if you get enough Stun Threshold to be immune! I went back to Unstoppable + Lunaris in the end though, as i like to GO FAST - If you have mana issues, as always take all the 'Attack Mana Cost' nodes at Cannibalistic Rite, and the Life Mastery for 'Skills cost life instead of 15% mana cost'. Inspiration is a great gem link too for Ice Crash. You can also use LIFETAP SUPPORT in your Svalinn shield linked to whatever you've got, that really helps if you're struggling! Enjoy everyone!!
