Betrayal Statistics

It takes ages to setup a mastermind to run.... Like to the point of it being absolutely ridiculous - I've done 3 or 4 this entire league
Least favorite league so far, shame it's going core.

Oh and get rid of the monologues.

Edit: Please ditch betrayal mechanic.

My friend and I did mastermind last night and got smoked. We are both level 96. It's just not a fun or fair fight. Things happen and you die without any clue as to why. At least with uber elder there's "stuff" that happens where you get drilled and you're like "yeah, I get that, big ball of death, shouldn't get hit by that". With mastermind these little green flares pop and then you take damage for no apparent reason and then you're dead. Yay to that? Having to go to youtube to figure out what the hell is going on with a fight just flat out isn't fun. AT ALL. Fights where you have to use skill or have a good character are why we play this game. Not to have to try to guess why we're getting hurt because there's no way to tell.

You mean you vastly, grossly overestimated the amount of people that would achieve the level of tasks you preset for them? Again? For the thirtieth time in a row?

Next you'll be telling me 99.9% of the player base hasn't encountered Aul!

You should consider having better gameplay testing cause I have done one playthrough from 1 to 91 and a lot of stuff was so obvious....
The mastermind is a awful encounter, with horrible gear.

There is literally no reason to run it, other then for the achievement.
Safehouses are infinitely more rewarding, and you dont lose your progress with each kill.

The encounter itself is so un-intuitive, that if you watch peoples vids on youtube of them doing it, its often followed by laughter and "WTF am I suppose to do here?".

The mastermind is the biggest failure of this league.
Not to beat a dead horse but I did Mastermind fight blind at the beginning of the league. Died because I didn't get how it worked. That's fine. But the Mastermind intelligence required to do the safehouse drops back down to 0% even on a failed run. Spending another week to get the intelligence back up to 100% just to try to complete it seemed silly. It became even more pointless as more information came out on how to manipulate the rewards of Intervention + Research.

Betrayal should not go core. It's a boring league that is rather intrusive and too complex (more so for new players). The bigger problem is that fixing the issues with people manipulating the encounters would just make it even more of a grind and would just never feel rewarding. The Pure Breach Stones need to go away completely or become significantly more rare. Scarabs are a fun fragment type but also need to become rarer too.
Bad rewards from the beginning, even after many, many patches.
Zero telegraphing of mechanics except for the central totem. Seriously the most shitshow fight in the entire game.
Total reset regardless of success or failure.
Many hours to try again even if that is your one, solitary focus.
Hurr durr it's Catarina, who knew. Thankfully I've been playing with voice off for years; watching streamers is a nightmare now....

I heard Chris say on a podcast that the Temple had too brief a reward cycle (lol), so Betrayal was deliberately prolonged. Geez, it really is feast or famine with you guys. Welp, time to nerf Cyclone and increase XP to 100.

Remember, you can only enjoy this game if it's your full time+ job.

agree that the rewards being pretty lame for the mastermind fight was a leak

but thought overall the fight was fun, even took a few goes to get my first kill which i like (maybe having the safe-houses reset if you brick the run and keeping it intact if you get the kill woulda been better but prob doesnt make much sense lore wise meh)

game needs more challenging content so im all for aids bosses with wtf is going on mechanics just give us better loot xd
First league in 3 years that I quit a few weeks into the league....none of my friends could stay interested and my guild also went into hibernation.

I am not sure WHAT went wrong here even though we all kinda liked Betrayal...maybe just general burnout.

Let's see what 3.6 brings.
