age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
Tried the Mastermind fight blind w/out watching any tutorials or videos on it with my melee character, had a good laugh after using every portal and only getting her to 65% lol, I'd assume that I would have to do about 3 to 5 masterminds before I figured it out as a semi-casual and that would take nearly the whole league with how I play. League has been fun but that fight was brutal

no need to invent anything. just integrate them into all the other crafting concepts that are already in the game. you can turn recipes into an upgraded room in the incursion temple, prophecies, fossils, essences, add them to the crafting bench, etc.

Of course that could be a (kind of) valid solution - but with what consequences? -I doubt we'll see other recipes beside the socket related ones located in the delve mine.
-I dont want even more of the recipes moved out of a regular 'reach' (the recipes that existed at the old master benches could ALL be accessed just by their 'explicit' missions, without ANY other kind of restriction); 'Tier-16' delve as requirement for 6L is ridiculous silly...
-binding recipes to fossils or essences(?) would still be 'new'
-would still not solve the desired (still existing) relation between the old masters and their specific crafting mods (beside meta mods)

and of course I think they dont want to elimiate all that data stuff that is related to the legacy masters (at least not forever) - and on top they would need another new content to 'replace' Jun...

The reason I did not do mastermind was that as a casual player, after hitting level 82 my master progress is still only 10%. Safehouse rewards are goofy (timed crafting fenzy? Weapon quality as a caster? Meh) so I don’t really care anyway. It is an okay background noise league, and veiled item mods are the best feature.
Identity is cheap. Reputation is priceless.

Still a SSF hipster build player who loves Ruthless.

why even lvl at all!! what is this 1996 come on! wtf is going on over there at ggg??

they should just give us lvl 100 characters and a full currency tab at the start of every league ffs

man i hate when grinding games are a grind its so stupid. dont they know all we want is ezpz content and everything handed to us and for free!!

show some love for players like wtf how about on the first 2nd 3rd and 4th mon/tue and wed-sun only exalts drop from rares

make poe great again!

Such a strange mentality. Erasing time is the worst punishment you can give for dying. That's literally all the exp penalty does, it erases the last however long it took you to get that 10%. Nothing else happens, you just sit there, remembering how long it took you to get that 10%, thinking about how you could be at 80% but you're at 70, remembering you could have leveled up by now at 90% but you died

And then it happens again. And then you stop playing because it's a waste of time. That's its biggest issue: it's a total waste of time. No other reason.

If GGG had their way, softcore wouldn't even exist, but they know they can't do that because then so few people would play
and I actually dont fancy veiled mods. it seems way too random (or i dont understand it), you dont know your actually progress and now I assume i got roughly 99% of recipes maxed I am not sure if I should still unvail or not. it took me few weeks just to get 6% quality on weapon.
also I never found 2 and 3 socket recipe which sucks but maybe i should just google it up

mastermind sucks and its good only for challange. i didnt expect only few people got 36 challanges, it seems to me that everyone got it waaaay sooner then I did and it wasnt really that hard if you play. but well I never saw how many ppl actually play POE so 1% might be a lot.

league is good tho and I hope i dont have to unvail hundreds of items again next league to get some recipes

the percentage does say nothing without any relation to a clear number; 1% of 10^6 would still be a lot...
Even without concrete numbers, the evolution of the challenges added more and more grind (even more if you dont want to buy them), and also recently shifted more and more of them to higher level contents... not everybody (not that many?) is chaining endgame prophecies/delves/map encounters.

This is the first league in which I actually finished the game (did one test run years ago). Game is very fun to play but Betrayal mechanic... Problems for people who aren't game experts are:

1. You meet syndicate members on every level/map and they soon become OP - took me some time to figure out that I can lock them down in lab cellar and skip mechanic totally until I get some better gear
2. as everyone stated, 2 hideouts with crap rewards and high encounter chance vs. 2 hideouts with good rewards and low encounter chance
3. mastermind fight and reset of entire syndicate + low rewards
