Time Capsule from PoE Closed Beta -- a classic PoE vs D3 thread circa 2012

i totally agree

I like this game more than D3 but am I going to get into PoE beta before D3 comes out, that is the question. I think their systems are really what D3 should have been, but they are still messing with the way their skills work and I am not a fan of how D3 skills work at all. Anyway Yay for Path of Exile, what a cool game!

I'll be playing D3 for the lore and PoE for the Diablo.

i was waiting for diablo 3 just because i was looking to get into this sort of game and people were getting really hyped about it, but after watching MMOhuts first look gameplay i thought this one looked alot more like my style game (plus blizzard can go to hell with the whole delays thing)

im gonna play poe so i can give ggg my money

Well, what makes gets me into this game, is that ggg took clearly less time to develop this kind of game and it already has more in-depth custumization + leagues, what gives and edge for hardcore playing.

Yeah! It sucks that they take the time to finish the game, they should just release it completely unfinished!!

hehe i played diablo when i was 8 years old and i loved every minute of it(it gave me awesome nightmares lol).Diablo 3 did look promising at first and had me really looking forward to it. Then i saw a review for this game and my jaw dropped... it was exactly what i expected Diablo 3 to be in the first place :)

I think I make it very clear why *I* felt I had to choose, and equally clear that I don't believe anyone else has to. But if they do, and if they have a reason either way, I'm extremely eager to hear the details.

The thought of D3 for the Lore, PoE for the Diablo is a good one, but I've already said that I can glean the lore of Sanctuary as it shall evolve in the hands of the current Blizzard through a synopsis and cut-scenes on youtube. I don't think that playing through the game and earnestly disliking it at every step (for reasons given) is going to have me any more invested in the epic story of Diablo than merely reading/watching it.
