I can't believe I've only just found out about PoE and after spending a day reading and researching I'm kicking myself for not knowing about it earlier. Not only is PoE "teh shiz", it's made in NZ! win-win

From a +20h-free-weekend-player point of view I must say that PoE's dungeons have that D1 feel and I absolutely love it. The anxiety (what will you get yourself into walking through that door or behind that corner) was a very present feeling for me through my D1 play time, that came alive again thanks to PoE :). My eyes were wide open when I saw swarm of spiders climbing on top of the bridge to slaughter my HC ranger :O. Brilliant game. Keep up the good work guys!

" I agree, too. D3 is, in my opinion, a crippled rest of what D1-2 were. But PoE makes me think the old feeling was "resurrected" with some improvements on top. |

The problem is Blizzards developers are constantly changing and most of them probably never played the games of before like we did. So its fitting that fans were able to make a game better than Blizzards current developers.
It very much reminds me of what happened to Ultima Online. Back when that game came out it was incredible to me but has now turned into something completely different because none of the same people are working on it. The only way for me to go back to that game and enjoy what it was is to play on a player run server. |

Woop! I just got invited to D3 Beta, so I will be able to gain some info about D3 the REAl way, and see if all those problems I've heard about, is that bad for me.
No plan to leave PoE though... WIP: BM Dualist using bow. |

Well, I'm sure this has been posted already but... why choose? I will play both, no doubt about it.
I'm also a hardcore Diablo fan, I bought D1 the day it came out, pre-ordered D2 about one year in advance and played it for 8 years (on and off). I didn't pre-order D3 that early just because I wasn't sure if I needed a PC upgrade first or not, a thing I would have done in an heartbeat if I was sure I had a job by the time it went out (which I now am). |

I don't understand why anyone has to chose. If you have the time just play both. Especially since this is going to be F2P so no upfront cost.
