It's not impossible to do it, but personally i dont have a idea how I could do it. It would need a lot of work and time, too much for somthing you will not get paid.

Wee got a little off topic, but am I the only one that didn't like diablo 1 and 2 music at all? Torchlight 1 and 2 has wery similar music to original diablo 1.

Wow, welcome to the last conversation we had like, 10 pages ago. :)
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild.

this debate about bots is pretty boring IMHO :) so I will happily discuss music with you :)

...eeehrm..but I think I can't say much..because I loved Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 music.

Well, anyway :) I like approach for PoE and D3 music.. D3 music is quite good mix between D1 and D2.. D1 music wasn't so much music..it was really spooky ambience.. D2 was..yea..more music than ambience.. D3 is something between...which is really nice.

In PoE case, I am not sure..but everytime I hear PoE music, nostalgic wave hits me.. So..something is done right there.. And while I can't point on exact thing, I love what I hear in game. ;)
Wow, gone for a day and this thread jumps 25 pages.

I'll catch up on any quality reading material I missed but I just wanted to throw it out there that if anyone has yet to try d3 beta, it's open beta for this weekend :)

Ok.

I really hate posts like these. I didn't bother to read through the whole 100+ replies so don't pay attention to me if this is pointed out already.

First of all OP grats to having 1000 bucks to lay down for this company. I would too if I had the spare cash. They did a really good job with the game.

Now to my post about your post.

I will quote most of the stuff you talked about

"
Diablo 2 raised the stakes by introducing skill trees to the 'genre';

Diablo2 became the fastest selling PC game of all time. It didn't just raise the stakes in terms of skill trees. It raised the stakes. Period.

"
Diablo 3 promised the ultimate in skill freedom,

They never "promised" anything. They basically said.. you will be able to customize your builds in "X" amount of ways, mind you its development phase and everything is subject to change, which should be expected.

"
RMAH concerns, the visuals being less gritty and more stylised, the simplified stat system

Are you kidding? Do you realise as a gamer what a resource blizzard is implementing here? This will be remembered for a long time as the first time a game company is actually saying to its players.. "Here's a real way for you to earn Cash through the actual game, without having to go to shady third party sites that rip you off or steal your CC info" ... For further analysis I beleive Athene has a very good video about how gamebreaking the RMAH will be for the future of gaming.

As far as the graphics go etc... its a company that has attracted a vaste more amount of popularity since WoW and has to appease to a much wider range of people than they had in D2. This is kind of expected.

"
And then they killed it. Now skill runes are given to you as you level. I don't need to explain the difference between that and the previously promised skill rune system. You've suddenly gone from a world of freedom to a conveyor belt.

Why... people will just buy skill runes anyway at the AH, on the RMAH, and they will become as easy to obtain in the future anyway.. You can still use the runes anyway you want. Giving players something every level is a more in depth "Instant gratification" while you level, you have something to look forward to every time.

"
They also killed ID scrolls, which to me is about as contra-Diabloesque as removing the 'ding' sound for when a ring drops. It was blasphemy to a Diablo veteran.

I really dont understand this... the item will be identified regardless..You pick it up... oooo shiny unique, id it.. "aw what a piece of garbage".. and vendor//waste time trading it. I'm playing a loot pinyata to get LOOT. Not unid'd stuff. Yes its a good thrill for about 2 seconds..you can also close your eyes if you want while you pick stuff up..

"
Suddenly I am dying again, something that just didn't happen in the D3 beta and not all that much in Diablo 2 (I played Hardcore mostly, and I'm not even very good at these games, honestly)

D3 Beta was 13 levels.. 13 levels is definetly not enough to go by if the game is easy or not. Plus they had to adjust mob dificulty levels in this game also..before that it was pretty much just mindnumbingly easy. Also.. if you die in the first 13 levels of playing to be perfectly honest I don't think its a games fault for being too easy or hard.

Just a note to the above guy and I guess charan too:

Identifying is still in the game, you just no longer need a pointless item to do it.
