Hardcore and why you should play / try it
99.9% of all my deaths in Soft Core are due to dysnc/lag/frame rate stutter. I never see what the hell kills me. So, i wont be touching HC except for races.
What is your point. Yes it is, every death is frustrating. Never said it is not. So with this attack on HC you want to say what? Well bashing again HC with no reason because no one attacks SC in this thread.
What I dont understand, if it is pointless to you, why are you trolling in it? I mean I play Dota, I dont play LoL cause its trivializing to much. But I am not going into Forums and Bash a game I dont play. But if I would be you I would do exact this. Search for LoL Threads and spam "Dota is much better stfu" style. And serious, you know how the internet works? And as long there are no active Forum Mods that just prevent people from trolling threads, making them basically useless because you cant just talk with each other in a mature way. And posts keeping the conversation up and not leading to a useless SC bash HC and HC bash SC I will keep doing this. Just try to stay calm and think before you post. Does this help at all or would the conversation have a much higher quality if I shut up. Or just think about how you saying it. Again no one attacked SC and why you attack HC? "Definitely won't play this game in SC and if "no restoring" is the only policy that shows how HC GGG is, then I am not sure I understand them." This is what you wrote too, so I understand your frustration. If I die I am pissed too but I accepct it. And as people mentioned, just dont touch the mouse in loading screen and its all fine. Had same near death experiance but i just move my hand far away from my mouse and everything is fine. Thanks, but I'll never play HC in a game where a lag spike or sudden D/C can kill my character. This has nothing to do with GGG, but with the unreliability of a solid online connection.
In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.

I understand you. I appreciate your post
And yes this happend. My gtx 580 broke, its now on the way to gainward...damn company...but here comes the story. I played TL2 HC - Graphic went down, computer shut down after a while. Ok I restart - error 49 or something like this (googled and found out card is broken) - well open PC remove card thx the card is not older 2years *Jippi*, place in a 25 Bugs 5450 AMD card till my card gets back. Login into TL2 and my char is dead...What I want to say, you can die because of so many random things. Like playing with a wireless mouse and your power cell gets empty, you cant move and Bam :(. Or havng a Razor that just dies some have maybe experienced their great quality ^^ edit: You should just not think what can go wrong terribly that is not under your control. " You do realise you are making yourself look completely retarded. Nobody is bashing the concept of hardcore, all I said is that there is absolutely no point in playing hc in the games CURRENT state. If you cant understand why its frustrating to die from something you have absolutely no control over such as a desync then you are completely stupid. I never ever bashed hardcore and I certainly did not bash hardcore without a reason. My reasons why hardcore in path of exile is a waste of time atm is made very VERY clear. Learn to read. Oh and for about the 10th time nobody here is trolling. Google "trolling definition" and you might understand what trolling is. Fool

" Nope. Go through some of the newer threads about "loading screen deaths". As for the quality of the thread and your ability to moderate it - carry on, whatever makes you happy. " WP -> loading screen -> Default -> Re-roll. Rewarding. More sense. More meaning. OK. Last edited by AROMEZ on Mar 1, 2013, 9:59:50 AM

To me, dying in Hardcore at a high level is not a problem, because I know I have 5 other build I want to try out and that just gives me reason to try them seeing how I have no main to fall back on.
And the problem I see with many players is that they give up after a couple of tries, I've died at least 10 times 30+, but every time I've learned what to avoid and take easy with, which I think many players just disregard and continue on with SC not learning their mistakes. Lastly, the resent complaints about death at loading screens are as simple as rushing to another area and not clearing the mobs that follow you, the previous patch protected you from dying to mobs in the new area but not the ones previously. " Absolutely incorrect. The patch fixed dying when zoning out. Mobs in previous zone can't touch you anymore. People are now dying in loading screen, when WPing from town for example, or, in my case Eternal Laboratory. Now, if you say there are monsters in Laboratory, that would be the news for me. Will investigate.
The original post is pretty excellent. Like many in this thread I can cite reasons I have not done much with HC yet but the main one for me is the friends I play with don't play HC.
Some day I plan to try it however. Hopefully. And for all the reasons given here. |
