Just because people disagree with you and don't have the same opinion doesn't make them trolls. That's simply having a conversation how any normal person with a functional brain would in real life.

Not sure about "noone" else being aware, but 100% sure it is not game changing.

Players who play on HC do not care about SC. They don't continue playing dead HC character on SC, they re-roll HC. To them SC is just a graveyard.

But maybe you are different, so you will benefit from that option.

Why I don't play hardcore

Random deaths due to connection issues, acts of god.

Playing the game like an old lady trying to cross a street. You don't take a single step forward untill your 100% sure there's no chance something bad will happen and if it does alt f4 put of there! That sounds boring to me.

Grinding long boring hours to make sure you out level everything so its not even really a challenge if its possible

Having even less options for builds then you do in default because of the nature of hardcore


I don't look at other people's builds. The characters I make are my own. The threat of them dying does not create a personal attachment to them in fact playing hardcore would force me not to so it would be easier to take the loss.



I just don't see the point to hardcore I like the idea but in practice its just a long boring grind where taking chances and trying crazy Shit isn't fun it just gets you killed.

Those reasons are pretty much why I play HC as well.

Of course, with desync and other unfortunate deaths it is a bit problematic and I can understand people saying they are waiting until the situation is a bit better before they attempt to play in HC - but personally I'm having a great time doing it right now already.

I want to try hardcore, but desync must be fixed first. And I am a bit hesitant playing a coward/sissy character in a fantasy game just to be able to reach a higher level.

Its not about disagreeing at all. derbefrier writes his opinion in a nice way and explain it without bashing. In the end both say the same but one is taking time to tell others why he dislikes it without attacking it. And the other just trolls badly on HC.

Well dieing is a part of Hardcore. You will die no matter what and no matter how good you are. And we play a online only game so internet will kill you. There is just no garantie not to die in an online only game. Your connection , their servers, cross connection between countries blablabla this is just something that happens. For me i have a shitty internet but i didnt die till now because of it. And I had huge spikes but for me this is just a cheap and simple excuse. Nothing wrong with it but you can also die in SC thx to internet trouble.

No one forced you to play like that, did they? If you play like that then it was a choice you made.

You're missing the point dude. You aren't 'losing' anything by dying - the journey you will have been on before you died is 10 times more memorable and exciting than playing in softcore.

There is no "point" to miss. His fun is not your fun. The game is repetitive enough, dying and redoing the same grinds over and over again is boring to me. I rather just stick to map grinding with my characters because of the variety at least rather than doing Normal, Cruel and Merc Ledge,Fellshrine and Docks ad nauseam.

It is boring as fuck.


Realm of the Mad God(a flash game) is far challenging than this 'cause the only challenge that I ever get from POE is desyncing rhoas,ribbons, leaping goats, and rolling earth elementals. I am sure someone will come up and say "But brrrrooo, desync is part of teh experience! LOLTROLOL!"

Wow, easy tiger. Don't be so hostile. I wasn't saying he was wrong to play softcore at all....I'm just saying his evaluation of what hardcore means was wrong.

And in all honesty it sounds like you don't even like PoE....whiach begs the question whay are you even here?

Excuse me? When and how did I troll? Are you confusing me with someone else? Because I gave my reason not to play HC for the simple reason that you are more likely to die to a desync than anything else. You can check my character on softcore called OsheriHC. Left it just like it was when I died in hc.

Until they fix the issues with desyncs, loading screens and spell effects making your game run at 5 fps in a 6 man party even with a high end pc, I see absolutely NO reason to play HC.
