I play hardcore mostly because the economy is better. In my experience from diablo, softcore reaches the end game too quickly where only near perfect items have any value. I think if you play well you have better chance of keeping up with the item race in hc.
Also even though alt+f4 might save you sometimes, even with really good gear people can still get killed almost instantly if you play too reckless. I think it would be beneficial to add some kind of countdown timer before your character leaves the game to stop the shenanigans though. IGN: ColdyEK

Why do people call it "softcore"? It's NORMAL mode, not softcore...

As long we have dysinc ishues in the game I think its not wrong having it in. Well I dont use it, even when i knew "if I disc I will survive" I know I am the reason that I am in this situation. Played to greedy for most time its my fault and so I accept my death.
PS: @ARPFan because the game is hard but the punishment in making mistakes is different. We get a Hard punishment and you a Soft punishment. Well this is how I think about it. i dont understand the term hardcore, because this playstyle is for a certain set of people who like to take their time and care about their characters. these ppl may play 30min a day or 12 hours a day, it has nothing to do with being "hardcore" as that term is thrown around a lot.
this game does have way too many bugs/issues for HC to be worth it at this time, but since you end up at default anyways when you die it's all good anyways. it's fun knowing that i have a stash full of stuff in HC even tho i currently dont have any toons there lol. | |
