Providing an alternative non-labyrinth method is not going to make the labyrinth fall into disuse as some may fear. There is no losing face here. I'd respect the dev team more, if they provide more users with a more fun alternative, understanding that they went a little off course thinking everyone would put up with the labyrinth like they have with everything else they dislike about the game.
GGG does not want, nor should they have to make an alternative for anything and everything that is seen as an "issue" by members of the community. You want a massive power spike in terms of power, you need to earn it, its actually one of the only pieces of content in the game that can't just be safely rewarded, although I will admit that paying for a carry in the lab does make things much easier, but that same carry potential is available outside the lab as well.
I would lose respect for the dev team and GGG as a company if they caved on this issue, because the content is well designed, despite probably being too much power to the player (thats another topic)
But then we have people like you that will complain about the lab without ever even doing the uber lab, hell its entirely possibly you haven't even done the merc lab. Where is the validity of the feedback when you can't even muster enough energy to do the challenge? The sad part is you aren't even alone in post about the lab without being fully informed or experience, there are many people like you that see slightly different content and you just nope the hell out of it.
However, it doesn't surprise me or likely anyone that likely a large amount of people that complain about the lab haven't done merc or uber lab and aren't experienced enough to give valid informed feedback. This much is clear to me and it should be clear to GGG and anyone else that thinks 700 or so people even is significant, especially when you consider the fact that you can count the number of people posting about he lab with little to no experience in doing it.
Who cares if you lose respect for GGG? Certainly not them. You're no more important than anyone else.
Get over yourself and buy some supporter tags

Lab and ascendancy do not need any change, it's perfect how it's working right now. One of the best thing added to the game. Well thought and well made.

And I will likely get more and showcase them with various changes that need to be made for 3.0, but among those changes are not plans to change the way in which you get AC points. By you and others that no longer play this game and will no longer play this game until the lab is changed spending dev time reading unimportant and useless post over and over again, you are detracting from the (more) important feedback that players are giving about various aspects of the game.
In terms of respect, it means a lot, respect means money, respect means perception. I'm not alone in this, nor are you alone in your quest to get the lab changed. However, of all of the post about people that hate the lab very few are large supporters and even fewer have the experience of doing the lab multiple times to have an informed enough decision to give valid feedback.
We can go back to your shit eating comparison again if you want. Instead of shit, lets substitute it for something a bit more tasteful. How about vegetables or something along those lines. When you were a kid you may or may not have liked them the first time you tried them, like all food it could just be you expected something else going into it, it could be that you had over\undercooked, it could be that you just dislike it because its different. Later on you try them and they are good, your perception of what to expect has been adjusted, maybe you went and found a new way to prepare them or approach them (like what to eat it with).
The lab is sort of like eating food in that you can't just say it taste bad after one short coming, you must peruse it a few times at least before you can say its shit and therefore unappealing to eat. Whereas you and most people that I've seen complaining about the lab resort to its shit because its different, its fine that you don't like it after you've tried it, but you don't give it the proper chance then you are being the 5 year old kid, instead of the 20+ year old adult that has actually given it the proper test.
Who do you think GGG rather listen to the 20+year old with a valid feedback for the 5 year old that tried it once and says it taste like shit?

I've breezed through labs several dozens of times. Hate it more each time because it's garbage content and a waste of my large past development donation dollars.

It's not garbage content. It's really not. It's just in need of some editing.
You want garbage content? Whimsyshire. That shit is pure fucking garbage.
POE has nothing on that level.
I agree that whimsyshire is pure garbage. It is 100% optional garbage.

Fuck that I'd rather eat shit then vegetables.
Uber Lab trials suck, way to much RNG in getting them to spawn. Get rid of some of the RNG on them. I play the game to actually play the game, not sit in chat hoping someone else finds the Trial I need. finding 15 straight Stinging Doubt's isn't the least bit helpful when you need to find all 6.
I see no reason why the trials cant all be stationary like they are in the other 3 difficulties. Put them in a set map, if you still want to add a little RNG to them give them like a 10% chance to spawn.

Dude. I didn't write that. You should attribute the post to Goatzjam, He's the author, not I.
Thanks
