Don't feel like playing anymore.

I'm right there with you man, couldn't even stand to play for more than 5 minutes last night when my wife decided to play.

Which is pretty messed up because my wife rarely plays so anytime she wants to play we usually sit down for a few hours and have fun.

Nope, not anymore, game is so depressing to play in its current form, it just doesn't feel fun and I would not recommend it to anyone right now.

Sad times.

what was weird the most for me were the purchasable skillgems

imho it was always a pleasure to have a lot of tiny powerspikes instead of 1 giant one

and the thrill to find an echo or multi or conc in the beginning was unbelievable rewarding

as it is now i dont even react to gemcutter anymore before 2.0 i would roll the shit out of them just to have add items and support only now its meh

i do understand why they did it but from my point of view the journey is the game and little improvements keep me playing being god after 3 days of play with full linked gemsetups is just boring (talking about same level questcontent not maps)

would miss your one or 2-liners which are always straight to the point.

my own issue with act4 boss fights is that due to the exact positioning and movement needed in these tiny rooms you can't have a setup that misses out the "move only" key. one accidental click on an enemy and piety grills you.

one could say that the game should be played that way anyway but then ggg could just hardcore that into their user interface and don't get players used to have attacks on the left mouse button at all.

Jeebus! People are still whining about the Act 4 bosses?

I just completely solo'd through Warbands Cruel with my ranger and believe GGG have been quite responsive and judicious in tuning the end bosses to manageable levels. Piety's laser now has a second long telegraph animation (a suggestion I was very vocal about last month) and I didn't get killed even once. The Malachai fight, which I admit is visually overwhelming at times, has a discernible pattern and many attacks can be anticipated and avoided if you're paying attention. It feels like one of those bullet hell shoot-em-up games and beating him is very satisfying even if he takes you down a handful of times first.

I would never qualify as a hardcore player with a deep grasp of meta and stat synergy but from my experience, 2.0 has vastly improved since release. There are still many, many things to be legitimately frustrated about (lag-inducing strongbox traps is currently my biggest gripe) but these self-righteous declarations of disappointment are in very poor taste.

So don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

I'm not asking for people to care. I want GGG to know that 2.0 has made a player who has played for about two and a half years not want to play their game anymore. I like the game. It's simply become too frustrating to play and enjoy.

I can't bring myself to try/fail until I learn to beat the bosses at the end of act IV normal. That's right. I've not gotten out of normal difficulty yet.

The barriers you've put up at the end of act IV normal are prohibitively punishing. Sure... you can get by them. You can pay someone to kill them for you. You can use gear found by someone who already beat it. You can work together as a team and overcome the challenge.

But a player like me is left without any motivation to play.

I've played four characters up to the Piety fight in Act IV and simply don't want to play anymore.

Please note that I'm not asking for a change. It's fine if you want your game this way. I'll likely play another character up to this point and quit again... just not right now.

... huh? coming from you this whole post strike me as odd. you have been playing this game for ... gosh a long time. We have already had quite a few boss fights that are more or less mechanical in nature. If you over came those i am quite shocked that act 4 piety would give you trouble. then again i don't actually know much about how far you have gone with any of your characters in previous patches.

at the very worst she should force you to over level a bit over the harvest level say 46 and get some more dps either by crafting a weapon using a cheap vendor recipe or leveling spell gems.

but this also comes from a perspective of doing a few races where killing bosses that are way out of your characters depth is simply part of the game.

sure piety and malachi are dangerous , but this is normal we are talking about here you can very much solve the issue by out leveling it.

I'm not trying to construct anything. I'm letting them know how a long time player and supporter is feeling about their changes to the game.

I'm doing it in a civil manner and attacking ME for that shows more about how you were brought up than how I was.
OP, I think hardcore is not for you. You claim:

Well I just beat act IV solo self-found hardcore on Sunday on the first character I progressed that far with. It's not even very difficult, you just have to build smart and play smart. You should play softcore because you don't seem to have the right mentality for hardcore.

I really hope that GGG doesn't make the game easier just to appeal to people who don't play smart/plan their builds, etc., as I really enjoyed the difficulty level at the end of Act 3 and 4. If anything I'd prefer they raise the challenge in Acts 1 and 2.

Good evening all,

I've had to clean up a few of the recent posts in this thread, so please try to keep the conversation ontopic and civil. Please do not attack those who have different opinions from your own; you are free to dislike any player or their comments but you should express your disagreement respectfully and without hostility.

We'll miss you around here Shagsbeard!

Sorry but if with 2.5 years of PoE experience behind you you can't go through act 4 normal with solo self found gear (which almost everyone did for their first run through act 4 at the beginning of the new leagues btw) then the problem is not in the game.

Almost everyone? Sure.

GGG knows the numbers there. I'd bet "almost everyone" gave up in or before act IV normal and never played again.
