An event out of their control, yet the technical director himself personally apologises.

This is why you get my money GGG.

GGg on sir's.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
Hey, this is only one hour, why so serious? I regularly spent more time trying to connect to servers in BF4.
BTW - good job ^_^

Quoted for truth.

I'll also echo what others have said in that, considering that you have almost no extended downtime of any sort (even for patch launches), an hour of "oh shit" that was completely out of your control, is easily forgivable.

It's called being professional and showing that they do care for the community.

If he's professionnal and if 1 hours downtime is really unacceptable, I suppose he resigned from office, right ?

A simple "sorry for this downtime" would have been enough, I have the feeling ( and it's the 2nd time it happend ) that it is overreacted and too much apologies for such a minor event.
This is just my feeling of course.

It is a marketing gag, kinda.

However many people appreciate the amount of information given to them. A simple "sorry for the downtime" is expected but so is a F2P game being P2W normally. They take sacrifices often enough to fuel a community core willing to purchase/donate more.

It is not a bad strategy, seeing todays tendency for people to cheat the system and avoid spending money on the products they enjoy. Making them spend money in the way of close community interaction and good company reputation leaves a better mark in the gaming scene, else they could just go full EA or Activision-Blizzard.

That said, I appreciate the effort Jonathan took to format the report for general audience again. Thank you, you guys are doing a great job! :-)

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
This is going to happen more then once in the future, and you can not be apologetic every single time. I do appreciate being told the details of what occurred however, and would love to be told why extended down times occur in the future. Do this instead of apologizing, and ill be happy with it. :-)

Good job on taking the effort to type that out. I criticize where crticism is due and praise where praise is due.

And praise is due here.

What's wrong with doing both?

Dayum yo fucking blizzard doesn't even do this.

Jonathan It was two hours it wasn't a big deal xD fuck 8 hours wouldn't be a big deal you guys LITERALLY have no down time 99% of the time that's good enough for me lol

enter to say the same thing...

GGG ftw... thanks for all the explanations...
Wise words buff -> balance <- nerf , need to happen , deal with it
When most companies say they care for their customers, I hear "we care about the money", but while I realise GGG wants to make money like every other company, these kind of things show there's more to it for them. Thx.
