Agree with OP, I wish every mod on gear was useful for SOME type of build. Things like life regen, thorns, and light radius are useless for 100% of builds. Getting a mod on an item I can never take advantage of is very boring..

i want to make a tank build with dual shields, doing dmg only with thorns and tempest shield (if block lets thorn reflect proc.)

" I agree with this guy. I don't use these mods, which means nobody uses them. So they should be taken out of the game. Also, nobody uses weapons with both +x% Physical Damage and +x% Spell Damage mods, so those shouldn't be allowed to roll together either. I'm mildly annoyed by an aspect of this game, and expect the entire game to change to my liking. Appease me! Look, man. Video games are hard, okay?

that is not a good example , as there is a build that uses a x% physical roll and an x% spell roll
in the form of coc St builds. or crown of eyes builds that basically convert the spell damage mod into a physical mod. you really need to stop using that kind of logic to bash people dude, you aren't actually addressing their criticism, you are crafting your own criticism and saying that is their criticism and then you are criticizing it . you cant possibly compare xdamage scale rolls to the likes of life Regen or thorns . for one thing the vast majority of average spell damage wands and items are gotten only for the spell roll. any other roll on them is just gravy. and x physical roll + spell damage combo is only a down side if you as a player are activly looking for the min max rolls of flat physical + phyiscal damage scaling. but at that point you are looking at top tier items. Look, another Saltychipmunk thread in which the OP argues to simplify the game.
Remove "filler" mods, reduce max mods on rares to four. That's the only way to balance for the reduced mod pool, IMO. What you are arguing for, consciously or not, is for all items to be viable. That would get stale, quick. |
