Top Reasons I Like Trading, an Economy, and am Sick of Economy Hate Threads

It's not action!

You get your skills and click them off, one after the other, and wait for the CDs to expire.
Or has that changed since I last played it?
And could you stop editing your post with new stuff please?

Yes, chances are you will never find a windforce or a zod. Is a windforce or a zod at the core of D2? No, it isn't. Jeez

what? so POE does not have a SKILL BAR where you click 1 2 3 and skills dont have cooldowns?

not all wow skills have a "cooldown" also attacking ~ casting. You attack in wow the same exact way as poe. You can hold click or you can press a skill button.

ya like d2... where you could clear your way to baal hell with a naked party. Thats right. You can clear up to baal hell NAKED.

if you think farming for hours in this game has no reward, you simply do not know how to farm.

i guess you never played any of the fresh leagues from scratch. i went from 1-70 with little to no trading. I traded like a chaos to have someone kill merci vaal for me. All gear was self found up till level 70. Thats when i used all my savings to buy a better weapon.

and when you mention drop rates, there are items on every game you listed that have absurdly low drop rates. And that 99% of the player base obtained by trading.

and not like d3 was for gods sake. d3 was the biggest flop in gaming history.

It has no reword, compare how many hours you farm in this game to any other arpg game. And again I am not talking about best of the best items, I am talking about items you need to progress (the items that you need to kill that boss that you payed for other players to kill). This game is heavy item depending, even more compared to some other arpg, and at the same time has the worse drop rates from all arpg.

Drop rates in this game suck compared to any other arpg game out there, and they suck because devs want to have a working economy and a balance around trading, that is a fact because GGG said it them selves. You may like it, but people like me hate it.

so the problem you have is with the drop rates, not with trading correct?

so lets just give everyone any item they need to make their character better with little to no effort.

and farming can be VERY lucrative in POE. You just have to do it right.

sure you might not find a koams every run, but currency builds, and you can vendor for recipes. It builds up fast if you do it right. Dont expect to run Merci marveil 40 times and find 20 exalts and 10 koams primacy...

Right, bind on account items. That is a TERRIBLE system. Most will agree with me. Few will disagree.

Regarding NPC trading we can drop this subject because it was just a point that trading is a core part of all ARPGS and you seem to have understood that at least.

And no, drop rates are not solely based around trading. Some things are such as Koams, and other super godly end game items that are meant for only the richest and/or luckiest players to have. If you want poe to become a "monochrome" everyone has all the best gear type of game, then I lost all respect there.

Drop rates are based on the FACT that some items are meant to be had by the masses, while others are meant to be ULTRA RARE, and only the luckiest will find or richest will buy.

And yet, trading allows anyone to get the rarest items regardless if they played for it. This is the reason why RMT exists. BoA puts the rarest items where they belong - to the players that actually played the game by killing monsters, bosses, or crafting. BoA is the single best way to battle RMT because RMT relies on selling ultra rares to those that want to bypass playing the game to obtain them.

This game has mirrors. The game is built to dupe, thereby making the ultra rare more available than they normally would be without duping.

RMT is a big problem for sure, but it has no fix. People will pay for pre made accounts with said items if they were willing to pay for the currency in first places. RMT will find its way no matter what. Hence why every single game failed against RMT and Botting. But that is a monster that knows no bounds and the problem is deeply rooted in societies way of life. Paying to win is a mindset.

things are not based on trading or based on the economy, GGG wants players to interact in a meaningful way beyond just spamming skills. Thats where trading come in.

If you read the forums you can easily see the people do not see trading as meaningful at all, so if that is one of GGG's goals they have yet to meet it. However drop rates are most certainly affected by trading. You can't honestly say that orb drop rates aren't effected by the economy, thats absurd.

trading is there for that player that grinded for 1000s of hours yet could not find the armor he wanted, so in that 1000s of hours he was able to find many other good items he can sell and save up to buy that big item.

You can easily play this game for a few thousand hours and not find many good items at all. Trading is how people get nearly anything of value. Grinding is secondary.
Standard Forever
So, trading demands skill, trading prolongs lifespan of a game and trading is fun.

Economy is more important than crafting, sitting in trade chats is way more interesting than killing monsters and looting. Community is awesome, solo play is autism. Self-found is easy, browsing 3rd party sites is complex. Basically, turn player characters into NPCs, open a shop next to Tarkleigh and enjoy the game.

Brilliant OP. Each and every RPG should be based on these postulates from now on.
