It seems like your crIt'd reallque of this game is from a self-found perspective. Just wanted to clear this up. The endgame is borderline unplayable without trading. Not saying I disagree with you, but crafting and loot is much more exciting when you trade. Finding something that is good but not necessarily for your character can still be exciting because you can be happy when you sell it for a lot. And then you can buy the thing that you really need. That being said, sometimes I wish the game just had gold because I absolutely hate needing chaos an exalts to buy gear and trading up with alchs and fusings and regals and regrets etc. is super boring and frustrating. Everyone wants a deal.

This is exactly the problem. This game is not made for self-found and soloplay, you can play it like that just fine, but when people put these moronic arbitrary restrictions on themselves, like not trading, they then can't go and blame the game for their own bullshit. It's like whining about CS because it doesn't allow you to drive tanks, that is not what the game is about or marketed as.

Well what about a player like myself.. I don't find trading ideal at all, but as its a part of the game I'll do it from time to time.. What I should NOT ha e to do however is trade out of necessity..

Right now I'm playing a lvl 66 shadow who is wearing two pieces of gear that was self found self made.. And coincidently they are the two items that are the worst of the lot.. Go figure..

Every other piece of gear was purchased.. This honestly sucks.. Itd really be nice just once in this game to build up a charater and not rely on anyone else to make it great..

I'm level 64 and have only traded for 2 items and a few gems with self found currency. Having a blast...don't think RNG is a problem. I do however think some skills could use some improvements for more builds (tempest shield)

One thing I learned from launching Path of Exile is how difficult it is to modify a game once it's live and people are relying on enjoying their current characters. As much as I'd love to make sweeping changes to try to improve how fun and satisfying the item system is, we have to be mindful to do it in the correct way so that the silent majority aren't upset at the changes.

Excuse my ignorance Chris but isn't the league system specifically just for this purpose. You can create new leagues that implement the changes that players are looking for and all without changing Standard or Hardcore so existing characters are not being effected. Am I missing something here or are you just blinded by your own ideals that you don't give a rat's ass if there are many, many players such as this OP that are not happy with the current drop rates and crafting system. I know that you can't whip up a new league overnight but with the massive amounts of posts like this one expounding the frustrations of getting enough crafting orbs one would think that you would eventually see the light that a great many fans of PoE really and truly feel that the current system sucks big time. Major changes that are incorporated into a new pair of leagues (one standard, one hardcore) would go a long way toward improving player relations and the long term multi-year prospects of staying with and playing PoE.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Shit just got real. Awesome post.

To true, but I'd rather my bullshit than yours be called an ARPG. lol

I had alot of fun reading this thread.
Meanwhile, half of the playerbase is actually playing the game, and not complaining about it on the forums. :^)

I only read the ops post so I am sure I miss as a lot of info, but just seeing his highest character being 56 I really can't share his opinion. On that level you do not even have to craf the gear, what you find is enough to get you to maps where you def be rewarded when you grind them enough. I am lvl 84 now and so fast found 6 ex,loads oif good unique and a eternal. I get enough currency from maps with her pure drops or turning alterations into fusings.

Sorry but on that level you should not complain and if you already can't deal with it I think the whole game genre is not for you. Your level is reached in a day, endgame starts at maps.

The game has his flaws but yours were based on what 10x low level chars. Put the effort in and farm maps consistently than you will see that you just have scratched the surface

If you don't mind dying and rerolling every map you try to do. lol

Why the fuck are you writing a review on the forums, reviews are for people PLANNING to play the game, people on the forums have already played it

No they're not, think before you post.

Reviews can also give players new insight on what they went through and relate. Otherwise known as reminiscence.

Otherwise known for.. Perfect for a General Discussion topic... Duh

You traded for items and also gems and your still self found ?

When you traded you lost the self found tag.Everything that character gains after that point is moot.
