POE: The Best of Games and the Worst of Games

Yeah, good read. Can't help agree with everything said.
Nice roundup, although I don't feel quite as passionately as you do about the 'negatives'. This game is just starting out though, and with the pace of content updates and forthcoming expansions you may well see the additional options you mentioned (even if you don't see any of the core mechanics scrapped). Good read.
Liked :D
Agreed. The crafting system is flawed to the extent that one would be better off just buying stuff from others. Trade of exile much.

Orbs in general should at least give decent roll-able stats/crafting odds to encourage poor player and not just benefit those that have tons of exalted orbs to play around.
POE just needs more fun stuff to drop.

truer words have not been spoken

The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG
Well written and insightful, but I am used to action rpgs without true crafting...Im used to that being a feature of more traditional MMOs. I am not used to being able to create or reroll rares at all after having played D2, Sacred2, TitanQuest, Torchlight and TL2...I am aware that some of these games had some elements of crafting although I never used D2s and in TL2 I still think you idnt have true control over it.

I think true crafting control would ruin an arpg like this because to me, the fun is in the playing and the stomping until you get gear that lets you stomp more. I am only of the opinion that orbs should drop more commonly or be easier to trade from vendors.
I feel like PoE's crafting and currency/orb system in general promotes trade and self found at the same time. Whether it's balanced to one another is an area it can improve on but I don't think the crafting system needs to be scrapped and redone.

If I could add anything to the game it would be an auxiliary 'crafting' system that augments items just like in TQIT. I feel like the parts and resulting items that provide the augments (and maybe the items that get augmented to provide an item sink) should be BoA to give incentive to grind without negatively effecting the economy or game balance/difficulty while adding more rewards and item depth, which imo is lacking in non-unique items.

Very well said. You carefully and precisely worded the equally strong feelings I have for this game. I hope that this thread is given some serious thought. May it at least help one person reflect on these matters and not suffer an untimely demise.
