Guide: Fireball CI Curser - Proliferated Burning Critical Fire Damage | In-depth | SC |

Do you think that this build works on hardcore?
What passive nodes would you change to play on hardcore? I think it will need some more defensive nodes, what way would you do it?
I'm asking cuz u used this build and i think u have a clever opinion xD

I'm so tempted to try this (on hardcore)

Ty!
A quick question - I cant seem to be able to see th skill tree you have posted? The tree itself isn't shown.

Any ideas why? Im currrently building up a FB witch and im haveng a ball, but after finding out how hard a full respec is I'd really like to base my build of something that works.

Cheers,
Matt.

Hey! :)

I've been asked the question a couple of times now and it's hard for me to answer since i play default myself.

I think it will be hard to play the character the way it is in this guide on hardcore. For one you need some good base energy shield gear to get started if you want to go the chaos inoculation route, and if you do not have that the best thing might be to build a life version of the build.

Life nodes means you will have many less nodes for offence, which makes you less of the nuclear bomber i envisioned this build as, but hey, I guess it does enough dps to work even with less damage nodes.

Totems and minions is also something i think is worth considering seriously to make up for lack of gear, and i actually think it could work very well. Maybe it is even worth grabbing some of those nearby minion points if they need to be more tanky.

About the passive notes, i would go for as much energy shield as i could, or life if i went that way, and earlier. You also want to make sure you have a fair amount of crits else it takes much longer to clear areas/maps.

For the softcore build im trying to find the build which offers just enough surviveability and not much beyond, aiming for zero death stability around level 90+ with very good gear.

I think thats all i can think of for now, hope it helps. If you do to try it out let us know how it goes and what totems/minions and such you use to help you survive. :)

Hey,

hmm, you are now the second that couldn't load it since i changed it but it worked fine for me. Which build is it you are looking at, the full level 95 one?

Have you tried reloading it with F5? Sometimes mine fails loading but it works when i reload.

Can't have a broken link in there :/.. ;D

I put in the last 5 points now, maybe that link will work. The last 5 points are energy 10% shield cooldown points and you can just remove those to see the base build.

If it really refuses to work you can download the passive skill calculator here and use that instead:

*facepalm*

I tried the (soft) refresh button multiple times, I didnt think to try the hard refresh you suggested (f5)

Worked perfectly. Thanks for that!

Matt.

Awesome build, I'm loving it so far.

One quick thing though. I noticed you updated the passive skill trees and after I saw this I started to respec, but some of my skill passives I can't refund? This is weird.

For instance, at the start of the witch tree you only move up two passives and get some spell damage nodes but you don't go up high enough for the spell critical chance, intelligence, or fire damage nodes.

I have the whole chain of nodes from top to bottom there and I'm trying to refund the nodes in-between and it won't let me. How have you don't this on your passive tree, but it won't let me on mine?

You need to have an unbroken chain of skillpoints. You cant leave holes in the middle.

Hey, it is indeed because you can't have an unbroken chain. Before you can respecc those points you must make sure you are connected to the points going towards the templar area in another way.

I first respecced some points which i used to connect the mana regen/energy shield side of the witch starting point, with the other side of the skill tree. That's 3x10 intelligence points you first need to place, and then it will allow you to remove those other points once you are not breaking any chain by removing them. I think it cost me around 10-15 points to do that respecc.

If we could break chains then i could just put my points in the biggest points on the passive tree without being connected to them :D

Does that make sense? might not be so well explained i just woke up.

Fireballers, this is a great day!

In this recent patch we have been boosted through not only Lightning Warp speed, but also through the 18% maximum mana point being boosted to 20% + 20% mana regen + 20 intelligence.

A big day!

Hey there, great guide. I am currently following along with my new Witch, whom is now level 50. Looking at your near complete tree I wonder if you've considered the following:

You are essencially trading 30% energy shield cooldown for 26% Increased Armour/Evasion and energy shield, plus now you are getting lower evasion from your grace aura. Your grace aura remains a constant boost, while armour mostly comes from situationally used granites. Also on the path to get there, you trade 30 dexterity, 20% crit chance, and 4% movement speed for 10 int and and 2 power charge related points.

So i think its better to have some boost to your overall killing speed, if you play well you should rarely be forced to use granites. The extra crit chance, movement speed and shield regen is all very welcome when you already have enough energy shield. The extra dexterity lost also means you need another +30 from your gear if you go for the second body and soul.

Still, they are good, and should be worth it in a life based build, i had actually forgot about those :)
