Guide: Fireball CI Curser - Proliferated Burning Critical Fire Damage | In-depth | SC |
Hey Crackmoster!
As I got myself a 5L Searing Touch last week I was looking around for a nice build for it. I'm really interested in your build but I would have a question to you. Is it possible to combine this build with some minion action? Kripp did a summoner build in the week race where he also used tri-curse and build arround minion instability and burning damage. I would probably keep your build mostly as it as and add some minion damge nodes such as Lord of the dead etc to it. Would love to hear your opinion on it! IGN: Seirabl

" Hey there, Yea i think its possible. It was actually my backup plan to add some minions in case i couldn't survive without them, but after adding arctic armour and getting some more levels i have found that i am able to survive without them. Now there's two things to the minions, you can either use them as tanks with fireball as dps, or you can use them as both tanks and dps. Spell damage points and such do not affect minion explosions, and fireball is plenty dps, also more reliable, so i think it would be a waste of too many points to go all the way up to grab instability plus various dmg/hp nodes around. I think it would be best to use minions just as tanks and grab the hp nodes and such things :) But hey, play as you want. I always wanted to do a minion tank/fireball witch so let me know if it works out well if you do that :D I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

Hello Crackmonster!
I loved the idea of the build, and I already had a 4L Searing Touch and a 4L Cloak of Flames so I went for it. When I was planning the build and organizing all of my gems and gear, I realized that I had a 17% Q Fire Trap gem that I found a month or so back. Thinking that it would compliment the build well, I decided to use it. Basically after 58 levels, I am incredibly torn between two options and I wanted your opinion on it. I love the idea of the build and using just 1-2 fireballs to decimate the screen. BUT. I also have fallen in love with Fire Trap. Right now I am using my 4L ST with Trap, Fire Pen, Ele Prolif, and Chance to Ignite. It is working brilliantly as my main source of DPS. Since my crit isn't all that high yet, the fireballs simply aren't competing with the traps. That being said, I would love to be able to incorporate the traps and fireballs into the end-game build. My dilemma is: Should I get a 5L searing touch or a wand/dagger + shield. As I see it, the pros and cons are as follows: 5L Searing Touch Pros - Can add a 7% Q Increased AOE gem to the combo and literally wipe the entire screen with one fire trap - Will cost less than a good wand/dagger + shield - +2 gives Fire Trap insane damage - Looks sexy Cons - No defensive stats - No crit chance - Less % spell damage than wand + shield Wand/Dagger + Shield Pros - Defensive stats on shield - Much higher crit chances with good gear - Higher % spell Cons - Will lose a significant amount of damage on Fire traps - Will lose 2 supports for Fire Trap (Chance to ignite + Increased AOE [if I got 5L Searing touch]) - More expensive to get 2 high quality pieces than one 5L ST Basically, the considerations are all concerning Fire Traps. The fireballs are fine because I already have a 5L chest that I have that setup in. Just wondered your thoughts on this matter, as you may have experience with the topic. Anyone else is welcome to chime in as well. Thanks! :D |

" Wow, I was in the exact situation as you, right down to the 4L cloak and 4L ST. I decided to go with fire trap as my main damage dealing skill, love having an AOE nuke to trash the whole screen. I use fireball + conc effect + fire pen to hit stragglers or when FT is on cooldown. If you do go with fire trap as the primary skill and you mostly solo, I definitely suggest that you pick up the Elemental Equilibrium keystone and run either a spork totem or an arc+chain totem (ice spear-gmp would probably work pretty well too but I haven't tested it). Drop the totem, mobs get debuffed -50% to fire, throw trap, curse, trap blows up, anything left standing gets hit again by the totem to apply the debuff to the burn damage. Pretty much everything dies. Oh, and I eventually swapped the ST for a wand/shield combo for the added defense since offense is not an issue at all :p. |

this works great with a templar too, I'm playing it and I'm loving it :) Got myself a quality fireball, the +1 curse ring and 5l searing touch for this :) gg

" Try running a decoy totem to gather the mobs and keep them off you while you fling fireballs at them. Also consider running zombies to give the mobs additional targets (tho the zombies will go down fast at level 30, they get tankier later on). |

Hi mates ,
I m lvl 32. I have a 4L Searing touch . Until my lvl 31 i used a comba Lmp Fireball Chance to ignite and fire penetration. It works incredible nice . But i tried to switch with Fireball elemental prol fire pen and conc effect and it doens t work well. No crit so no ignite and it costs too much mana. I have a huge trouble with mana how do you counter that dudes?By the way after this sad try i came back to my last 4L attack and it s really fun and murderer I m looking for an awesome necklace eventually cause the rule for me is to never lvl up clarity more than lvl 3. How did you do personally about this mana problem? Many thanks in advance No risk no fun hardcore forever
