Guide: Fireball CI Curser - Proliferated Burning Critical Fire Damage | In-depth | SC |

Having taken the full DPS route at the beginning I'm starting to have some real issues in Cruel Act 3 due to a lack of defence. I might go with shield/wand instead of Searing Touch now if I can find some decent ones, but I'm not sure if that will solve it. At about level 45 you lack the crit rate for stable crits, sadly.
Act 3 Cruel can be a tough nut, but luckily there are no problems with killing, so you can just play it a bit slower and even if you die you won't lose much.

I rushed through as fast as i could then i got to fellshrine and grinded it for many levels. It didn't run into any troubles worthy of memory until i started doing maps with low gear.

You might also give chance to ignite a chance if you suffer from lack of crit stability, works rather well.

Hope it helps.

Yup, rushing through it is pretty much my plan right now, then to get some levels in Ledge and Fellshrine.
I'm doing a build similar to this in HC (lvl66 atm), although the "cheaper" :) version for the moment, igniting via "chance to ignite" rather then crits, later on I will respec the life node points and get CI and crit nodes. At merciless act 2 burning damage is really quite good.

One thing I'm a bit worried about is the certain glassy cannony aspect of it and not being able to leech/pot ES. I will see how it goes and maybe make one build based on life, armor and EB parallel to it :)

Will let you know results :)

You could always grab Ghost Reaver and use a life leech gem, trade off DPS for survivability. Not a bad trade in HC.

Thought about it but you'd leech from the initial fireball impact and not from the dot which would make you kinda static (need to cast to regen), same goes for rejuv totem + zealoth's oath combo, need to stay around totem to regen which makes you kinda static :/ imho the strong point of this build is "fire and forget" let them burn while you run around and move from pack to pack :)

For the moment I'm using skellie totem for A3 it works nicely so far :)

On a sidenote, burning damage is quite high without crit so far.

Sure, the dot wouldn't help you with Ghost Reaver but you are presumably flinging fireballs pretty consistently so you'd get a fairly frequent leech. I definitely understand the concern though.

Re: Zealot's Oath, I assume you are pretty close to the 1.0% life regen node in the Templar tree; to the extent you happen to have +life regen on gear it would work even better. Totally agree that a rejuv totem is not compatible with the playstyle.

Life regen on equip would work but the regen would be really low I think, regen based on life wouldn't work because of CI. I will try putting some leech on fireball after I respec to CI and crit, we'll see :)

Actually, if life regen is converted to ES regen it is based off max ES, not life. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/69777/page/4#p864682. Plenty of CI builds use ZO for that reason.

Hey Necro i got sidetracked yesterday :)

The build does have a classic glass cannon approach, but it's not so bad, still, it is very dependant on gear and when you are on 5-6k++ ES things start to get much easier.

I also got my temporal chains as the first gem to 20% quality for the reason that it was essencial to avoid taking too many hits.

I could imagine that skellie totem was very useful to keep their attention, or some frost nova totem, /arctic breath with chains etc. You really need some good gear to go without any totems on HC i think, at least 7k energy shield.

It probably wouldn't hurt to reduce damage a little on HC to help you on the most dangerous situation of all with good gear - elemental reflect, and you can experiment with life steal and such if it helps.

Personally I think life leech/ghost reaver matches very badly with this build and that is is best to focus on getting high ES.
