Why the concentrated effect? I thought the ignite burn only work with the initial hit, not the AoE that follows (that conc affects) or am I wrong?
I went almost the same route as you btw, but I use a chance to Ignite gem instead. Dont need faster casting then and thus saves me on mana (to be honest, you cant faster casting a fireball without BM or mana leech, unless you run eldritch or gimp your gear with mana suffix). Also, try adding a quality shockwave totem! Why let the group do the shocking for ya when YOU can do it, at a cheap and easy way even :) Good job and nice to see other fire profilerators out there ^.^) //FireRogue |

" Heya, I just went out to confirm that the aoe effect of fireball causes ignite. Even though concentrated effect is not reflected on the spell tooptip, it will still increase the aoe hit that occurs when fireball lands, and which the ignite is based on. I verified it by checking that several monsters were individually ignited by a single crit - showing that the aoe hit causes ignite. The reason i don't use chance to ignite gem is that its a chance to ignite for low ignite damage, noncrit ignite, whereas any crit will always cause ignite and for much higher damage. Ignite does not stack on the same monster, so while the chance to ignite can be great while clearing packs when you have very low crit chance, it won't add much power compared to faster casting. Yea faster casting is insane on the mana, and i originally thought that it would not be possible to do it, but i have theorycrafted this build to that very purpose. That's why i (almost) pick as much mana pool and regen as i can, as well as +mana and mana regeneration on gear. It won't be possible to constantly cast it for eternities, but i will end up on 500+ free mana, which should allow me to cast almost unhindered considering that you never stand perfectly still and nuke for ages. Right now i have 1450 mana. I have a 28lvl witch with the same spent points as you (though to the right part of the tree).
I'll give it a try but after I level my witch cleaver :D To crit or not to crit ?

My fire witch is currently level 44 and I am using almost the exact same build.
My reasoning was similar to yours: Temporal Chains with double curse is the key. Though I am currently using my Fireball with LMP, which is kinda powerful. What do you think about that? GGG fanboy

" I think its very cool, i like to call it the devils tongue technique :D If i had to use it i would use it in place of faster casting, but i prefer faster casting over it. It gives more crit stability and lmp also reduces the size of each hit and thereby burn damage, although it also has a slightly higher mana cost. If you had shavrones i think (bit modified your build) with rf and using two auras on hp to make it low life you would do real nukes, tho you would have to get some chaos resist, but with quality rf you would do 130% MORE spell damage (you would be able to use 2 more % auras with hp), tho you would lose some energy shield due to not having that 20% more, tho you could get rid of few crit/crit dmg items and get some extra energy shield since i think having 130% mroe spell damage would increase your damage by shit ton, or i am wrong?

Nope you are not wrong, it is stage 2 of the build, however, that gear costs over 50 exalted and you need weeks maybe months to find the right items.
You need some flasks to dispel burning, which will cost you either adrenaline on the quicksilvers or iron skin on the granites, but it can be done. You also get possibly the coolest spell icon in the game :D It is something i would like to do one day, but i will farm xp and gear in this form until i am ready to undergo my metamorphosis. Well, can you give an approximate DPS number please ? With curses, crit, and very good gear ? I wonder how much we can reach.I read that you write Instant damage plus burning damage = 5115% But, in DPS how much is that ? Thanks for helping, and BTW very good build.
