First off it's absolutely true that the new build is weaker while leveling till level 40 or so. You don't really need to es mana and such already then and will clear faster by going directly for the damage.

As much as I don't care for the Templar aesthetically, with the new build I suspect it would be a smoother leveling experience to roll a Templar. You'd have early access to elemental damage, AOE and resist nodes and it gives you the flexibility to avoid going to the base of the witch start and putting those points elsewhere if desired.

Templar should work just fine, but it is an ugly character if you ask me, and without access to 3 of the notes :D

Some reason I wasn't able to load your passive tree link. Could you post your latest one or a new one? Your build is interesting, at first I was going to build something similar but decide to go more defence. However, I am a fireball crit rate user with LMP and its been working great.
