Remove MF completely from game
"I play mostly solo. Looks like it's really gl hf for me :/ There is definitely a point in having MF set, no point in having a non-MF one. As well as playing a build that relies on using such set exclusively. Last edited by Daefecator#4146 on Jul 25, 2013, 9:35:03 AM

" well the way i look at it personally is if i want to get serious on leveling, which i do every so often want to try gain that extra level. I lose all my mf for dps and survivability So for me my dps/non mf set of gear is crucial in its own right for that purpose anyways. Oh and if i run say high maps solo and want to build on my map pool i'd need to switch to my dps gear in a hard map with high iiq so i don't die loads heh but that might just be because i'm bad heh not sure ;D Last edited by TheVileOne#5157 on Jul 25, 2013, 10:08:52 AM

As someone who just spent a painful amount on an alternate art Andvarius, I'd like to say: please remove MF. Or at least fix it so it no longer eclipses all other options.
Stats that overwhelmingly penalize and discourage build diversity are not healthy for the game. Last edited by Karcaroth#3263 on Jul 25, 2013, 11:02:53 AM

"If this game didn't have maps for its endgame, that might work. However, since XP progression is itself loot-dependent, there is no exception to the rule; MF set is always best (at least in maps), unless you're distributing the effort through grouping. I actually like the core idea behind maps, so I don't want to get rid of that part; therefore, it makes sense that I'd be against MF as it currently exists. Experience penalty on death is being nerfed, and still nothing is heard about Magic Find?
Well, this discussion is interesting... though totally pointless. Reading this thread is really disappointing. Reading through insightful thoughts of different people thoroughly put into walls of text, and then seeing a random poster kicks in with their TLDR style - either "I like it, your point is invalid" (probably playing sporker) or "Dumbing down the game is bad, and you should feel bad" (probably didn't even level up to the point of realizing most arguments made here). Too bad such a great discussion is falling on deaf developers ears, that is further enhanced by the one that had the balls to reply played the regret orb card and removed his comment. And while we are on topic, I would like to know where is my +experience gained item affix? There are not enough options for me to gear for. Sure, I already have rarity and quantity, but I demand my options! If I want loot, I go for those, but what if I want to level faster? Attack speed or elemental damage? Those are for e-peen type of guys actually. I want to gain experience! |

"Not necessarily deaf ears; definitely dumb mouths. "With the way maps work, IIQ/IIR is the way to get this done; even in terms of XP gaining, those two affixes would probably be more important. "I actually enjoyed reading your posts and I definitely like your style, what makes you think like that? Do you think it makes anyone dumb for arguing here but seeing no developer's response either here or in actual patch notes? "I agree with you that current map system heavily favors run efficiency over clear speed, thus IIQ/IIR are definitely on top. So I was implying MF defender's logic in that 'MF removal will simplify the game'. IIQ/IIR presents on uniques as well as blues/rares. More experience gained is seen only on uniques. Why the discrepancy? Both stats are directly efficiency stats, and will certainly allow for more efficient play. Options anyone? |

Ok, I looked at your link, and it changed nothing but wasted some time. So, do you really think there is nothing being actively done to magic find because noone, you included, was able to communicate properly in order to tell them the feedback properly?
It's much closer to an epic fail actually. |

" Let's break it down real slow to remove all possible misunderstanding. I neither think it's reasonable to beleive nothing is being done, nor that we were unable to communicate properly to the development team. My comment was merely pointing out that GGG haven't spoken on this topic; the inability to hear is properly described as "deaf," as in "deaf ears," while the inability to speak is properly described as "dumb," hence "dumb mouths."
