Remove MF completely from game

Base drop rates suck because stacking MF can get you ridiculous amounts.

Playing a complicated build gimps yourself. You don't have enough room for magic find, and as such you miss out on the biggest part of ARPG's. LOOT.

On one hand you can have a super fun, super powerful character who sucks at finding loot so it is ineffecient to play with that character.
On the other you have a character who is a loot factory, pumping out more rares and orbs per second than any other build but theres a good chance that character is really really fucking boring to play.

Key features of magic find characters:

-They have 1 skill which they spam over and over because it has item quant/rarity supports
-Gameplay is piss easy and repetetive
-Gearing is just.. "Do they have more magic find than my current boots? No. Ok vendor."

Key features of characters which try to break free of the magic find metagame:
-They use a range of skills depending on the situation
-The gameplay is fun
-Gearing is interesting and dynamic, with a range of stats which can be useful.
-They are gimped for loot because they choose to play a build with a unique idea. (Wasn't this what POE was supposed to be all about?)

Needs either a really low hard cap, I think 50% quantity, 50% rarity and a direct buff to base rates.

Or just dump the whole thing, and give a big buff to base rates.

Fuck hard caps; the latter is the only sane option of the two.

You can play interesting and fun builds and run some MF gear.
The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Just Saiyan.
This is like saying that I can have sex, and I can drive, therefore the two aren't mutually exclusive. The whole point is simultaneity; you can't add more interest to an interesting build with more MF.

I don't know what you're on about Scrotie.
If the build has lower gear requirements, why not run MF? If the build is interesting, it is interesting with or without MF. WTF are you talking about?

Do you mean: why wouldn't a player run MF? Perhaps you value a small amount of additional entertainment (increased speed) over a large amount of addition in-game reward (loot). But most people are pragmatists, not idealists, and thus virtually everyone, like you, will take the big loot bonus.

But that's not the question. The question is: why would the developers make you make that choice? Why set up a contrast between more speed (fun) vs in-game loot? Why reward the less fun option?

I'm not blaming you, Herpy; you're working with the hand you're dealt. I'm blaming the deck.

I'm not really specced for MF on any of my characters. ^_^
I don't think any would have more than 100% combined IIQ/IIR.
My totemplar will be able to run a fair amount if I can get an Astramentis or spend a bunch of passives on stat nodes (trying to avoid that as I've got a long way to travel for IR).

If your build can't MF, your build is bad and you should feel bad for trying to pull others down with you.

I'm sure some of them do. If you'd actually bothered to look at my info, you would have had more useful ammunition. That doesn't change anything though - if your build is underpowered, don't try to kill other builds just so you can feel better. If a build is overpowered, try to kill that build.
