Double current monster based iir/iiq and reduce mf values from gear by 50%. This way mf would still be as effective as it is atm without being that mandatory.
Also item quantity (not orbs) is way, way too high. yeye its nice when you kill rare it drops alot of stuff but.. white items are pretty much always trash. Who wants to see garbage popping up over, and over again? Reduce all non-currency quantities by 75% and double rarity. Party buff could be 10% item quantity, 50% currency quantity and 40% rarity. " Whatever it was it was removed. Doesn't necessarily have to be a developer who commented. Could have been a forum moderator about to chide someone and then thought better of it. I really hope it is a developer. I would love to hear their take on this issue. I still post that MF ruins this game. As said by others.. it makes the game not about fighting monsters, but all about farming. Leet drops are considered not leet if they have no MF and it becomes almost mandatory for individuals to have MF in order to find or get the decent gear. It rewards those who have nothing better to do than to play the market game than to play this as an ARPG/Dungeon Crawler game...ergo its better for bots and RMT players. "Yes, it is extremely fun to find these items because they are so rare. But to dedicate all your gear and build only to the sole reason of find these items (which you will be selling most of the time anyway) is what diminishes fun of anyone else significantly. You either get loot or not - what build/gear will you choose? If there was no MF, every build would be viable, and you would still find these items, but they would be just as rare as they are now. When fun for special individual (be it specifically me or you) opens up possibilities to destabilize all the economy by making many accounts for the sole reason to "farm" for items - is exactly the point when Magic Find's negative influence starts to heavily overweight its positive one. |

just out of curiosity, what are the MF builds now? I know of dual spark low life, and summoner. what else are people running? cleave? roa? ek?

"I expect farming, especially in Hardcore where prudent behavior is encouraged, but I also would like hunting to be viable. And that's the problem with MF; it encourages a more agricultural mindset, rather than going after the big game. Farming should be done with high damage and high movespeed, usually at the cost of survivability due to the easier content; MF is not required to build for this, so farming would still be supported, it just wouldn't have the huge preference over hunting that it has now.
