Remove MF completely from game
The game being balanced around these mods make for a very poor game experience when playing a class that cannot take full advantage of them. Since the drop rates are obviously balanced against their existence, the only way to get remotely decent drops is to get some IIQ/IIR. The only way to efficiently stack IIQ/IIR is to play a summoner/totem character and go to town. Its terrible.
It would be nice to see IIQ/IIR mods removed from gear, maybe use them in a different fashion, but as long as a few builds can get away with junk MF gear and still slaughter then it will be perpetually imbalanced. |

I see a simple solution to this issue, balance drops better.
Increase yellow/unique drops for no mf users, and keep drops for the people that have high iiq/iir. Iv said this in my 1st post, taking out stats out of a game is inherently bad since less stats mean less choices. That way you please the non mf users, and dont ruin the thousands of gg items that rolled iiq and iir, not counting all the iir/iiq uniques that people use. The game would be worse off without magic find.

" That is one opinion. Imo, the game would be much better without it. There at least needs to be some serious diminishing returns so the benefits of playing a summoner or dual totem build does not vastly outweigh those of playing every other build. |

I agree with the OP.

Still curious why the GGG response icon is on this thread, but there is no GGG statement to be seen. What is with that?

I am in the minority here but I actually think mf is too weak in its current state past a certain gear and level mark.
I ran 297 mf zero quant (320/48 on switch) on level 72-77 maps for about 1 month but stopped because the rares you find will almost always be worthless and its questionable how much of a difference mf makes for high end uniques like shavs. At level 73-77 the rares can be used to create regals so that can be considered a considered a conssitent income. Keep in mind running dps/health gear vs hard mf gear made literally no difference in killing speed on 6 player maps and it was actually safer due to less damage meaning far less chance to die on reflect. Most of my sales are actually from alching white ilvl 76-79 rings/amulets/belts. In summary, I chose dps/life gear not because it was required to clear maps but because it was more slightly more fun - where as the benefit of 297 mf was not even enough to counter act a slight amount of enjoyment. If you run solo you need to max out iiq and back it up with iir @nepha. Not the other way around imo.
What can never be lent or earned? Somewhat, that devours everyone and everything: A tree that rush. A bird that sings. It eat bones and smite the hardest stones. Masticate every sword. Shatters every shrine. It defeat mighty kings and carry mountains on lightly wings. What am i? Last edited by Spysong192#7559 on Jun 24, 2013, 1:57:46 PM

" Were you getting all the killing blows? The difference for me running maximized IIQ/IIR versus no IIQ/IIR is night and day. Rather than 1-2 rares from a map boss I get like 10+ rares, not to mention a lot more uniques and currency. I would be totally fine with this if it was implemented in such a way that ALL builds could take advantage of it rather than it simply being another perk of playing totem/summon/nochallenge builds. |
