Why does Lioneye's Glare have no drawback?

We know this. The question was, has a diamond unique ever been released that was latter believed to be too OP? As far as I know, no. Like I said, I would believe they are stricter for the exact reason LG and Kaoms. They wouldn't *want* to nerf a diamond unique, or couldn't I dunno. So, they take their time with them.

I couldn't find any such unique.

Besides, LG design is just so bad and boring, the Hits Can't Be Evaded mod is its lone saving grace. If I were a Diamond Supported, I'd never want such thing. Seems like all guys with 1000 USD to spare wouldn't either.

I wish GGG looked at Voll's Protector and Tipua Kaikohuru every time they are releasing a unique.
I consider these two the best, most balanced designs in the game.

I'm sorry, did you design Lioneye's Glare? Were you part of the pre-release balancing process?

Didn't think so.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time you've said this, all I want to do is somehow gather $1k, sneak an OP unique pass the devs and when you say this just reply with a simple "yes, yes I did."

WTS demigod ammy for $1k so I can mock Charan!

+1
GGG listens to its fans!!! Thank you!
Of ones I consider powerful, these are the ones given credit in facelicker's thread

And all of them have drawbacks, are definitely not best for most builds (actually most are niche), and have interesting mechanics to them. Perfect.

Well, Taryn's Shiver is kind of meh, but it's basically the same deal as with Searing Touch.

edit: Moosifer, you screwed bbcode with this quote

I can not think of anything more disappointing than to know my unique was not even worth picking up for the vast majority of players.

They do not have to be end game worthy but they should have some value past level 65.

Really that would make it worthless.

If they were to do that they would need to also make Shavronne's make it so you cannot leach or regenerate ES (ZO/GR) and make kaoms only give 500 life so they are equally garbage.

Don't do that. Kaom's already has a very obvious drawback.

Kaom's does have a very obvious drawback and yet is still the most OP item in the game.

I think they should just give LE the downside of RT. Would make more sense than gimping its attack speed.

edit: I read your post wrong - I thought you meant using the unique, rather than simply picking it up. I'm sure all players pick their first individual unique, even the most weird ones.

Below is my original response, not really any point in it since I misunderstood the quote.
Spoiler
Sorry, but don't you see that this is the exact recipe for Best in Slot uniques, such as Lioneye's?

Uniques in PoE are not some higher-than-rare level of power. They are meant to be unique, not some "item for everyone".

Why should they have value past lvl 65? This would pretty much mean all uniques should be end game items. Look at tipua, it is a unique meant for twink gear leveling. I have no issues with uniques being meant for that purpose.

On the note of giving it RT, this wouldn't change anything really. People that do bow crit builds don't use a glare mainly. Thus, its still pretty much BiS for most/all bow builds. It should either become a build enabler, or be introduced with a serious drawback in order to justify its power.

The only reason why Kaoms is broken is due to a combination of life being so prevalent and mob damage being too high

Because i would not even consider of picking it up as opposed to items like sadmia's touch, wanderlust, goldrim, loctonial caress, the searing touch, blackheart, goldwyrm, wandertrap, lions eye paws, chinsol, quill rain, silverbranch, springleaf notably most of these uniques were GGG made and have twinking as well as late game use potential or a niche build and most importantly did not cost someone 1000 to design.
