Why does Lioneye's Glare have no drawback?
Why must every unique have a drawback? What is with you people its like you all are hell bent on taking any fun out of the game. As it is high level maps, gear drops, currency drops, trading, playing solo, all suck hard, yet you are worried about nerfing the 1 unique that you cant see having a drawback. Fucked up community with messed up priorities.

This deserves a bump

" Isn't that how uniques were meant to be in this game? IGN: ThrobbinRobin

Lioneye´s pretty much just got a drawback.
The reflect mechanism now lets reflected damage be evaded. This way the "Hits can´t be evaded" on lioneyes becomes (or might become more of) a double edged sword. Still not enough though. IGN: N_Bohr Last edited by Ola#3288 on Jul 15, 2013, 4:19:53 AM

" Fucked up community with messed up priorities? No. You're either straight up ignorant or you just don't want to get your precious game breakingly overpowered bow nerfed. It needs to be nerfed and anyone with a brain knows it. Stop acting like it's anything but bad for the game for Lioneye's to remain the way it is. |

" I dont have a Lioneye, its just the mindset of this community that is irritating. I think some of the community and developers have lost sight of the fact that this is a game and is supposed to be fun. Drops are already unrewarding as is solo play, trading is a pain in the ass because its human nature to fuck everyone over I guess and thats the majority of trading, this game is messed up in alot of ways, the last thing I am worried about is a bow being op that I am sure I will never see drop anyways, and if it finally did, great I may have finially found a decent item.
" Not really. Before the RoA patch, lioneye's weren't even close to being the best bow you could get for that build. RoA was/is one of the best bow builds out there. Now, depending on how strong accuracy becomes, you may again see rare bows trump lioneyes, especially when you factor in the fact that they can roll both considerably higher DPS and higher crit chance. Lioneye's was just the best "one size fits all" item in the game for any archer class. If you didn't have one of those much more expensive, much more rare high end thickets, you could still be very strong with a Lioneye's. It was much like Taryn's Shiver with Kaom's for FPers. You could still roll much better staves, but Taryn's had everything you needed for that particular build. The truly ridiculous uniques are those that offer something that literally no other item, or even combination of items, can do. Even if you a thousand exalteds worth of gear, if you don't have Shavronnes, you can't make chaos damage not bypass your ES. You could have the most GG gear in the world, but none of them are going to come close to +1000 life like Kaom's. Those are the "bad for the game" items. The accuracy buff definitely goes a lot ways to helping with the Lioneye situation.
Soul Taker on the other hand (aka Lioneye 2.0)...ranges from 99% impossible to 100% impossible to replace the benefits of an extra support gem. What a screwup. If you have a 350 DPS Soul Taker, most often the extra gem you're going to get out of it is Added Fire. 39% more damage. So now the Soul Taker is worth 487 DPS. This is BEFORE counting all the physical dmg you might have on gear. Maybe .01% of the playerbase will ever get an axe with more than 487 DPS. It is worse than Lioneye ever was. " Yea take that shit out of the game, I mean who wants a badass axe like that in a video game anyways.........oh thats right I DO, thats why I play these games. You people trying to "balance" the game seem to want all the items to be bland and boring and have a huge drawback, fuck that this is a loot game people want to find badass loot.
" You can have a "badass axe." The problem is having a "badass axe" that becomes essential. It's "if you don't have this item, you're not endgame." That makes the metagame overcentralized, and it makes it difficult for newer players to play the build because the item becomes so hugely commoditized that they can't afford it. |
