Why does Lioneye's Glare have no drawback?

Yea take that shit out of the game, I mean who wants a badass axe like that in a video game anyways.........oh thats right I DO, thats why I play these games. You people trying to "balance" the game seem to want all the items to be bland and boring and have a huge drawback, fuck that this is a loot game people want to find badass loot.

Nope.

People want to BUY badass loot, they want all loot, any loot, every loot, to be theirs.
But then, because everything is available to them, they take issue that an item is OP and now they are required to use it.

Jesus, the problems this game has that revolve around the age old free-trade system that fails in modern time, are countless.

But try convincing 'best gear possible as soon as possible', 'path of least resistance', pretentious HC gamers and devs of today, otherwise; and oh nooooes!!

Just don't make these godly uniques tradeable, fkn simple.
Casually casual.

LG has a drawback now. It reflects 100% the damage to Evasion builds, unless used with Blackgleam which still is a drawback and you still don't evade reflect as opposed to very good rolled Thicket Bow with physical increase and add elemental rolls:

Now I love it, cause the price will get lower on LG and so much higher on good rares since most rangers are evasion now, me included.

Are you saying lionseyeglare effectively nullifies the reflect evasion properties of evasion and by effect, ondar's guile?

Sad story, yes. It nullifies Evasion most important aspect of mitigating the projectile damage you do and reflected back, you can not evade them as you do the damage to yourself.

can a dev confirm this? Also, wouldnt RT have the same issue then?

Basically, unless you are using accuracy, you will not be able to evade projectile reflected damage?

Read the thread he linked you...

Bland and boring is really how the axe comes across. Oh wow look at all of that DPS and you don't need mana to use it, yay how extremely interesting....

Really great uniques make you think like bringer of rain. Friggin amazing helm that would have been absurdly OP without the drawback, what an amazing UNIQUE. Its not a boring legendary its a unique.

Want an example without a big drawback? Aegis Aurora. It doesn't have a drawback but it introduces a really interesting mechanic to build around. Thats what makes great uniques. Not throwing on a ton of DPS and calling it a night.

Congratulations to one handed axe users, now over 90% of you are just going to try to to get the unique, screw rare axes. All of you can run around with the same friggin thing.
Standard Forever
So what about Voltaxic Rift, hm? Not sure if it's been brought up yet, but that bow allows you to completely ignore 99% of reflection, on top of doing an immense amount of damage.

See the issue with just retroactively nerfing items is it will hurt people's trust in the game. People will be more anxious to go after high-end items because they might get nerfed in the future. Then all that money they spent, or all the time they spent chancing/finding it will be all a waste.

Personally, I like having uniques/legendaries that I can take with me to end game. Just the fact that they have a name that's not "Something Seige Axe of Whatever it does" makes them cool and interesting for me. They feel more like something of value rather than something you picked up off the floor that has good numbers.

Lioneyes is probably overall the second best bow in the game, and I still see it going for 20 ex

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I have trust in a game when the devs show that they WILL make the hard choices to keep the game balanced, not when they show that they WON'T. The time they spent will all be a waste? Someday the servers will shut down - does that mean all the time you spend playing will be a waste? (yes.) No, you enjoy it while it's here.

There are good ways and bad ways to handle nerfs. Right now, the devs are choosing a very bad way, with legacy items and pretending they can't change them.
