No respec options? No thanks.
@WhiteBoy88: Their game is pretty good actually, they can aim for a higher success.
But yeah, like I said on the first page, they're working on something, let's wait and see. And for you information, PoE is pretty casual, you can leech from skeletons. j/k :) PoE forums ignore list script:

Fwib:
I dont want them to introduce very cheap or cost-free respecs and cater to casual-style like Diablo 3 and Blizzard (ultra casual style btw). God no. I only stated that current respec system is not so well designed. Why? Read my previous posts. I also stated that i dont see full respecs like bad thing (they are super awesome in D2 or TQ) and i stated that i dont see whats wrong with selling respecs in the store to make some money and make some ppl happier. "@WhiteBoy88: Their game is pretty good actually, they can aim for a higher success." Agreed... this game has definitely feel of AAA game (for me). With polishing, some advertising, some good press on sites and from ppl like Total Bisquit etc... GGG can aim much higher that niche game for hardcore nolifers (masochistic in soem ocasions - crafting) that some of player want them to make. :) Hardcore? Hard? - OK Too much? - NO Its simple. hard boss battles.. death penatly.. complex skill system and machanics.. - OK. Forcing me to grind for 99 Orbs of Regret with char that i dont like to play anymore - NO. Bad decisions are just bad decisions. Last edited by Kabraxis#1526 on Feb 19, 2012, 3:26:46 PM

I hope they keep the current system of respec so people actually think about specs and play the game. They said they don't want easy full respecs for 2 main reasons.
1. They want people to PLAY the game, they don't want people making 1 char then respeccing him now and then. Sure games like D3 might be so awful that people just want to hit cap as soon as possible so they can stop playing and just respec but the devs of GGG said they don't want people thinking *oh god I have to level a new char* they want people saying *hell yea! I get to make a new char and play all that awseome content again!*. Which would you rather it be? 2. When people respec they tend to screw up, for example they pummel all their points into damage then they realise they have a 1% chance to hit and 10 health. The best setup is one you've been using and adapting as you play or one which lazy idiots have copied from somebody else but if your going to do that you may as well not bother playing and just ask them to give you a capped char. I so hope they don't give everybody full free respecs, I would perhaps be ok with a paid respec but free full respec should stay where it belongs, in games for 2 year olds who have no attention span |

You know what happen when you understand you screw your character? You stop playing with it and you feel you lost your time. That's what happened to me. Currently I'm testing other characters, but I try to carefully plan my build.
I don't know if a keystone is good? I ask on the forum and stop playing my character to not screw it. I got no answer? Well... I stopped playing my character. Overall, it means I don't want to play the game because I don't want to be punished. It's not fun. That's why they have to do something about it, and that's why many people raised their voice on the forum about it. You can't experiment with the current system, only if you're willing to restart the same character from scratch. It means you play play the same skills at low level instead of progressing in the game. Why I'm still playing the game? I think the game has potential, and GGG need feedbacks. Now they can do whatever they want with our feedbacks, they can listen or not. I'm in the beta and it's free to give feedback, it's the purpose of the beta. If only there was a tree builder or the skills said what they did so say if you needed more accuracy you could just get an accuracy node instead of selecting ??? marked nodes!!
psssst im being sarcastic theres a skill builder and its really very simple, if you don't have enough hp aim for hp nodes, if your damage is to low go for damage nodes, as for the passives like chaos inoculation they also say what they do. |

" they are only a little gift (after 10 years without!) to please the decreasing crowd at D2, for keeping their general attention - mainly prefacing on D3... " Its a thing they say to not want - players that did not care about money would get an major advantage, if they could trade in a "perfect" char (by redesigning the skillmap of their already uplevelled one) against their money... invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" Making one poor choice won't/can't ruin your build, you can already respec out of decisions like that quite easily regardless, so I think what you wrote above is a bit "chicken little". You will make mistakes in life, doesn't mean you should just quit until someone tells you what to do. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

maybe we will see a "Casual League" with sth like:
-Respecc -150% EXP -200% Droprate ^^ |

" Yeah but ultimately, you can make the choice even before playing the game. "They don't have respec? Screw that, I'm playing something else". It's as easy as that. I want to enjoy the game with my friends and have fun. It's ok to have to make choices to maximize my character's effectiveness. It's not to have to reroll a character if I made the wrong choice and the respec system isn't enough. PoE forums ignore list script:

I see this in MMOs and other game forums all the time for different features.
There is something missing that most players expect in a game in this day and age. Then there is a group of people who will fight against it with ever growing desperation. Claiming hardcore, and "kids today!", and "When I played UO..". They always lose in my experience, because game devs and studios aren't usually about hanging on to some romanticized vision of a game from 15 years ago. They generally want to attract as many players as possible, today. GGG may buck this trend, it's their game after all. Many many variations of the original thread post will be repeated over and over on release, guaranteed. I suggest a great improvement of the Orb of Regret drops, a respec before a certain level, or some other compromise. EDIT: No respec also enforces the notion (you already see it in game) of coming to the boards to get "your" build. It makes sense to follow someone else, when you have to get it right. FFA loot sucks. Last edited by Die_Scream#5464 on Feb 19, 2012, 7:14:46 PM
