No respec options? No thanks.
" Thats one intended purpose of the respec point quest rewards, and the Regret orbs... " I dont want to confirm every point I set... others opinons? " A game which is based on players decisions, and with no "offer" to make mistakes (or to do them without drawback), may sound fun to a bigger crowd of people - but it is only a short term fun at all, anyways. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

I would definitely like to seen an option for confirming passive skills selections. I haven't accidentally clicked any on here (yet), but I did it all the time in Diablo II, and other games as well. Suffering for a simple misclick is not hardcore, it is simply asinine.
If Regret orbs are as easy to amass as some of these guys claim, I can't complain. The only problem I could see is if you were unable to collect the amount you need with your possibly unusable due to low survivability/damage. As long as I can get those orbs by putting forth the effort, that system is OK with me. I find it incredibly harsh, though to blame players for not studying the entire skill tree and all the mechanics of the game when they make a less than viable build. It is understandable that knowledge of the game will not be easy to collate during a beta, as systems and stats are ever changing. But at release, all required knowledge of the game to make a character playable at all stages/difficulties should be available for perusal. Basically, how should a new player know that they are necessarily making bad decisions when they choose skills? Understanding of what makes a good build comes through playing the game, so newbies must go in blind, and generally end up walking into a wall. I recognize that PoE is for the hardcore crowd, but it is disheartening when systems are so unfriendly to the user, and sometimes push more casual players away. Remember, we all started out as casual players, and grew as gamers through experience. On a somewhat related note, I support the purchase of full respecs from the cash shop (not Regret orbs), as limited uses (one ore perhaps a bundle of three, five, etc) or a pricier version that adds full respec functionality to the game for that player. I am however somewhat apprehensive of the effect that could have on the player economy, and leave that to more knowledgeable fellows. |

" LEFT CLICK - Assign Point RIGHT CLICK - Undo Last Point Assigned Save confirmation on Skill Tree Panel exit (YES/NO). Plus build templates saving and later following (ebven auto following) template and comprehensive search within tree. |

I love playing games that require knowledge of excel spreadsheet.
You know, because I love to do my work before I play and all that. Yes this game is for hardcore players - even the Devs said that. I expect nothing less. Happy Days Abound.

" I previous suggested this solution too. (to make points set in the map just valid on exit, as a way to plan your decisions be checking the results) To have an option to overlay the char's map in the game with a planned build fron the website would be another great feature, too. " Playing chess, you dont have to claim to win, or even to be successful, if you dont know about the rules - before beginning. Different from this (and similars), you have the chance to check and learn while playing... but you should have some basic ideas on how it works at all (or stick with obviously non-risky decisions, until a while). " Most of the really needed informations (that are able to be served as information) are already there at the website; and of course should (and will) there some tutorial-like helping hand for the release. " ...or comes from asking at forums... ;) newbies that make blind decisions in a straight row, should be able to accept to have to restart with a new char at some point. One or two, or even 5 misstaken points did not matter much until a very late state of a char's progression (when they could easily get corrected with the existing respec options!), and nothing at all for the very first. " Even for having some experience with games like this, I wouldnt call me a hardcore player or a pro. " To force the players to think about their decisions, to give their decisions a somewhat deep meaning, concerning their char, is nothing to call as "unfriendly" in my opinion. Enjoyable to casuals should not mean dead easy, not taking all consequences out of the gameplay. " Gaining experience on gameplay/mechanics by simply switching back and forth only forces the lazyness not to learn... invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

Yes. I mean that you create template on website or ingame, save it and then you may import template to game (if is vreated on website) and than you simply follow this template when you gain points.
Another great feature will be ability to view char stats screen WITHOUT CLOSING the tree panel. Simply to easier check what differrence some choices will have ad char stats. |

Passive skill point confirmation before exiting will be added at some point but it's a very low priority. Until then, Orbs of Regret are great for fixing misclicks.
