Mechanics thread

Only speed penalties are the movement speed penalties that armor and shields (and occasionally unique items) give and they are now documented in the item data armor page. Generally speaking, Strength Armor will slow you down more than INT and DEX based armor will, but the actual numbers are in the link.

the helm is one lvl 1 with 3 sockets (sryy but ill sell it now)
the lvl 26 is with 4 sockets the weapon is lvl 5 and have 3sockets as well (gone for chromatic in a sec)

level and item level are two different things...

yes but i am saying that i found one with lower lvl with the 3 sockets...
and i got one lvl 16 4sockets boots (not linked)

He's saying you are only looking at the required level, which is not the same as the item level. The item level is a hidden atribute, you have to pick up the item so that it is on your cursor, and then type /itemlevel into the chat box. That will tell you the item's true level.

you look on the wrong stats... take an item ingame in your hand, then press enter and type /itemlevel into the chat window, then it shows you the itemlevel of that item - and thats all what matters here.

You can have even the very lowest items. like a Plate Vest, having an itemlevel of 60 when dropped in MoC. It still will have a - base - level requirement of 1, but it can get affix mods from the whole range up to level 60, and can get a much higher requirement from them. It works very different from other games like D2, where the base item has a predefined max socket count.
